Thanks Killing, I guess you'd call it "painting outside the box".

What is everyone racing on? I'm running on carpet here in Indy. Grizz, your track rules sound similar to mine:5-6 cell and a Venom Fireball (300).

Thai, sounds like that cra$h was worthy of video....

Around here the surface has changed, actually, we have run for a long time on a surface called Skid-Not(it's an abrasive painted on coating for paved surfaces, kind of like that on a tennis court), works alot like med-low grip asphalt, but we've just recently changed to carpet, & honestly, I think we're all in for a learning curve. We've already tried the rubber tire setups that worked for us before & the cars felt terrible, so we're gonna have to experiment with more foam tire stuff(most of the micro guys here switch to running on the dirt oval this time of year, so we'll mostly be tire & setup testing until the cooler months come back, or until the oval gets rained out, & in the meantime I just run my FT TC4, & when I have the cash I'll likely get into 1/12 scale again).....

I remember racing micros back in the day and it was pretty big. Unfortunately racing died out alot once all these trucks flooded the 1/18 market. If they ran micros where I race I'd probably pick up an M18 once again.

Grizz, I chased set-up for half the winter season I settled on this:
Front:
GQ 35's
Blue atomic spring
6* caster
3/64" nylon tie spaced inside tires
FX dope on inside half

Rear
GQ 25's
Stock Spring with 1/2 turn cut off
Add Atomic spacers to balance and raise ride
Nylon tie inside tires.
FX on full tires

The ties are very important on the rear to stop traction roll through fast S's.
Keep the springs stiff on the front to prevent traction roll everywher else. I ground the underside of the front diff case on the output so I could tighten down the deoop screws and lower the front end.

Cool, thanks for the setup, btw, would you happen to know where HPI's foams might rate(as far as shore numbers go) compared to those GQ's? One of my buddies tried his basic setup but changed the tires to HPI firm foam fronts & medium rears, & he said it flt pretty good like that(so it made me wondr how the softer foams like GQ's would figure into it)....

Sorry, I've never run the HPI's. I did use the orions with the hard-med-soft rating, but never felt their soft tires gave enough rear grip. They felt like 45, 40, and 35. The Ellegis are good but they don't make a tire softer than 35. GQ's seem to work best for me.

Personally, I never run the soft foams from HPI, Orion, TRC. They seem WAY too soft for me. They tend to roll over in the corners & make the car less predictable. The Xray foams retail for 5 bucks a pair & work great. I usually run mediums all around when using diffs at both ends of the car. Firm fronts when using the one-way.

I forgot to mention, apply a layer of CA to the sidewalls of the tires, both front and rear. This was a big help with traction rolls.

The ca helps a lot with chunking too. Clear finger nail pollish is another alternative.
