I was looking at that pack - but its sold out when you click on the link that MikeR provides Do you know any other places that might sell those cells??
Maxamps has a small lipo back, pretty much same dimensions, just a little thinner that I might go with if I can't find the Apogee ones
I ordered the 140mm chassis...The last time I ran my micro at a challange, I ran 140 and ran 2nd in the "A" (before I crashed and finished 4th) so I'm going by what I know I'll like
Another charger I forgot was the Checkpoint charger - looks a lot like the ICE and has a better discharge rate (30amp) than the ICE, but it costs about $40-$60 more than the ICE...
I saw that too. Thats why I wanted to measure the space for the battery before I ordered anything. I wonder if the rear pod is the only difference between the 140mm and 150mm setup. And if so, can we get it seperately.

I know Mike had the 140mm rear pods available separately, I didn't see anything about the 150 pods though

Everything is available seperately for the Exo 3 except for the servo mount and the center rear pivot (as of yesterday). I wouldn't be suprized if Mike would sell you those pieces too if you asked him. The difference in length between the 140 & 150 kits is in the main plate, not the motor pod plate.

You are correct- the difference is in the main plate.
Roy & Kevin- the maxamps will work well for you also as long it's the same size or smaller in the 140 kit.
Ice charger all the way Checkpoint has some discharge issues if you look in their thread.
The maxamps is 66mm long and the apogee is 60mm long. Will that still work?
Ice charger.... okay. Do I need a low voltage cut off too? How about a balancer? Is it overkill?
the last time i used a lipo pack (2s for my micro) I didn't use a balancer
If you mean low voltage cutoff in the esc ? by all means YES, it will drastically save the life of your pack...Lipos don't like going down to "zero" like the nimh cells...
pretty much most of the newer escs (say new/out in the last 1.5 years) have that programmed in...I know all the new Tekin ones have it, including the rage, B1 and B1r (but I might be a little biased on that )

Okay, I just measured the space on the chassis for the battery. I'm only getting 58mm between the servo clamps and the base of the bracket for the center rear pivot. Am I missing somthing here? How square is a lipo battery? I can see squeezing the Apogee pack in there because its 60mm, but the Maxamps are 66mm long. I can slide the servo forwards more, but the servo clamps will still be in the way. Any ideas or advise?
Also, how freely should that center pivot rotate. I'm thinking it should be as free as possible, but I'm a bit concerned that if I loosten it up, it will start to wobble as it wears.
It looks fantastic so far though. I can't wait to get it all together and on the track.
Thanks but I need an HPI body, that one is by Orion.
As I was posting the link, I thought you might be using it for the HPI challenge. The HPI 150mm bodies seem to be in short supply right now. I'm assuming you already called around to your local shops. You can always email Andy Hilman at HPI. He is the one organizing the races and he is really good at checking availability at the warehouse.
I have 150mm corvette and 140mm viper bodies new in bag, if you are still looking.
