I'm sure you could turn the motor power down through the ESC, either by manual programming or the Castle Creations USB cable. I have an 8000kV system in my RC18 and it does well on a small technical carpet track.

Nice looking truck. But if you are going to race it on carpet you may want to try some foam tires (I like Parma) if the track lets you, and a DP drag link. The DP drag link is not critical on dirt, but on carpet it is a must have. IMHO

No go on the foams, our carpet is cheap stuff and they don't hook up. On our T4's we run holeshot's front and rear, so I'm thinking the Bow Ties will work ok for the 18T.
As for the drag link... I'll be placing an order for it, and the gear cover set from DP soon... although I must say, the car steers VERY well on pavement and high traction clay, I may have gotten the 1 tight steering linkage out of a 100 lol.

I got my Mamba working and installed again, as far as I can tell it was the voltage cut-off throwing my ESC into a safety mode. I wish I had a Castle link for this thing. Anyways it's back in on 12/60 gearing and running well. I just received an order for a bunch of tires too! Road Rage's and Bow Ties on the FT chrome dish wheels.. Just gluing at all up now, should be able to go scare some cats away from the neighborhood later haha.

what i have found the stock inserts can cause traction rolling.....the sidewalls flex under turning loads.....the hard inserts are really good for high bite carpet.....

not too much of a problem for me. i needed extra tracktion so i wouldn't slide. but it was a slow track because it was set up tight. so i'll have to see how it goes when i get it out on a loose track.

I almost always use stock foams, in any scale. I find the things are well worn down long before the foams are beaten down. By stock I mean the ones that come with the tires. I mostly buy ProLine or Panther.
