Well as of yet we don't race 1/18 in my club at all. Indoor season consists of 1/10 electrics, but I think we are getting enough guys interested that we could run a 1/18 open class. That would be cool

Does the stock servo saver c-clip still need to be replaced, or is the drag link you suggested sufficient?

It doesn't need to be replaced, but it does need the O-ring mod atleast. Cut a thin groove around the outer diameter of the plastic servo saver and stretch an O-ring around it. The O-ring helps to tighten up the steering play while still retaining the servo savers ability to save a servo during hard impacts.

Hey guys,

I just got an FT 18T on ebay. It has a mamba with a 24mm can and a lipo. Is this the hot setup? Do I need to get the MIP stuff to keep the drivetrain from coming apart?

MIP is definitely the way to go for CVD's and diffs if you need to replace. Does your RC18T come with them already? They are usually the next upgrades after the mamba. The mamba and lipo's will definitely give you the speed and torque requiring them.

Welcome to the world of the RC18T

i would be VERY VERY VERY careful because lipo cells are not heat tolerent....they are only to a certain point...i think 60*F or sumthing
BTW.... wer are u getting the lipos from? and howmuch and wat capacity? i just picked up some 3 cell 850mah 11.1v lipos for 8 bucks each.....yes 8 bucks AUSD EACH.....got 4 of em lol

I would either use the stock motor with gp1100's or go BL. Just my opinion.

hahaha wrong thread. my brain goes on vacation sometimes

I think I have my carpet racing motor... Venom Fireball with a cheap LRP esc. Seems to rip around pretty quick... not like my Mamba, but then I doubt the Mamba would be very racable.
