Hey man. I'm in Manly, and race at the St Ives track and occasionally North Ryde - in the 4WD Mod class. Planning to race the RC18, both clubs have a class for it now which is great.

I bought the Quark and Hacker motor from this dude in Sydney: http://dreamtec-rc.com/index.php/cPa...5921288e72c38f

He actually had one on Ebay (new) for $140 ESC + Motor. Bargain! So keep an eye out for it. It was $179 buy it now but I got lucky.

I've sent an email to AE about it, and have read elsewhere about the turnbuckle issue. The front shock springs are concerning though, as I can't adjust the ride height at all.

Ran the car today for the first time. The cat goes mental around it! It's hilarious.

Quick questions....

The shock shafts that came with your kit....were there 2 different lenghts or all the same??? Also, did you mount the lower part of the shock in the right hole in the arm (inner hole)?

Also, there are 2 different lengths of turnbuckles....the longest ones go for the steering, the shorter ones are for the camber links.

I had exactly the same problem with the turnbuckles! Was very frustrating... I ended up getting a complete set of ball cups and replaced the ones that needed replacing... I found the build quality of the FT was quite poor. Especially after owning 2 T3s and a host of Tamiya and HPI cars. Was quite a let down. But I have since done a complete carbon and alloy conversion which solved alot of the problems... But also introduced a couple more.

You're in Manly hey! LOL I'm in Queenscliff...

So St Ives have a class for the 1/18 scale sweet! I might have to head up there and check it out! Is it 1st and 3rd Sundays or 2nd and 4th? Can never remember...

Might see you up there one day.

I have the shocks in the right mounting holes on the front arms - it's quite evident even off the car. Unsure if you can make it out in the pic attached but the left side shows the gap, the right side is the only setting that the shock spring is touching both top and base.

The turnbuckles I received in my kit were all of equal length. AE denied there was a problem, saying I could get up to 1 degree negative camber. I could only get 3 degrees positive. They also denied any spring problems so I've emailed them the pic and will let you know what they say.

St Ives runs 1st and 3rd Sunday, but they've also started on-road at Warriewood. Could be a chance to whack on some foams to the RC18!! The dates are on their forum: http://s9.invisionfree.com/stives_rc/index.php?

One more comment. I'm running the KO PDS-3014 micro digital servo. Anyone using this? SOmetime if I hit an object at an angle, it will somehow reset the servo centre. So once in a while I've got to make a major trim adjustment (and hence end point adjustment too) on my transmitter just to centre it again. It's not the dodgy servo saver setup thatI'm yet to tighten up - it's the actual servo. Any hints?

THanks for the help guys.

My shocks are the same. I just set them at the height I need when the truck is fully laiden.

It's frustrating not being able to set it whilst it's unsprung... But hey... LOL

They have on road too hey... MMMM I might jump onto thier forum. Cheers for that!

I could get about 1 degree of neg camber on mine but it's no where near acceptable, not that you want to run much more than that, buthaving parts at the extreme of thier adjustment isn't the best.

It'll be interesting to see what AE have to say about the shocks...

Good luck!

well on my rtr 18T i have the largest limiter on my front shocks and it just compresses the spring a tad.

Default Online store for Rc18 hop up parts

hi..
Can anyone please inform me where do you guy got most of your RC18 parts online?
I've been searching Diggity chassis at online stores such as rcmart, rcxmini, towerhobbies.. but got nothing.
the reason i dont go directly to diggity is because i need other parts to be shipped as well, since they sell chassis only.

Is there any other graphite chassis brand that are more widely available?
Many thanks..

Im looking at buying one of these little creatures, but my question is.....what is better - the T or B?

I notice there are alot of trucks in this thread but no buggies - why is this so? Im buing it to race at my local track but also for speed runs etc... what handles better off road?

i just want peoples opinions.

Cheers!

There are only a few differences as far as parts go that make one a truck and the other a buggy.

Body
Upper chassis plate
Front/Rear shock towers
Wheels/Tires

I have truck and buggies and...personally, I like the look of the buggy better. I also like the more sleek, lower profile shape of the body.

Whichever one you choose, they are a kick in the pants!
