does anyone know of a servo with a little higher travel than the stock servo? all the servos that i have seen say high torque but i could use a little tighter turning radius and i have never had trouble with the servo not having enough torque
BRP makes foam tires for the Losi Mini T that will fit but make sure you get the rears only since the fronts use bearings. They work on the stock axles if your running the buggy or truck but you'll need to change axles for these to fit on the R. The R axles are shorter. These foams are on yellow wheels and are smaller diameter so you can gear up for onroad. I run asphalt here and I'm still on my first set after 6 weeks.
It seems the Hitec servo is the popular choice although its slightly slower than the AE one. You won't notice the difference. Everyone complains about the stock but consider how cheap and small this thing is! Have you ever looked at the gears in one of them? Hard to believe they put up with the abuse we give them. If money isn't an issue then go with the Hitec. I just keep extra gears in my box. But I've never torn a stock one up either.
ive used all sorts of different hitec servos and all worked very well.... the stock servo is fine if your bashing, but the stock servo will not center correctly, and likes to wonder....
first upgrades i did to my minis were new servos and a new steering drag link by a company called Impulse... its very similar to the driven pro one, however is much tighter
they are cheaper also. for more info email Justin at impulserc@hotmail.com

That is exactly why I want to upgrade. My stock servos ( i have two 18t's) suck.
I can buy a HS-55 at my LHS for $10. But i was thinking of go to the HS-81MG, any thoughts on this one?
thank for your time

i have used the HS-56 and the HS-65 both the karbonite geared ones and metal geared.
honestly id go with the HS-65 karbonite. ive had problems with threading screws into the end of the metal gears, but on the other hand i have broken the karbonite ones. however a new servo gear set for the hs-65 in karbonite is only 3-4 dollars.
the 56 will fit perfectly in the chassis, but because of the case's squared shape, it will not allow the entire range of motion that you need. the 65 will. also you may have to get a little creative with the mounts to get it to line up perfectly. with any of the Hitec servos, you will need the associated hitec servo kit for the RC18 series. what i did to fix the mount problem is i placed a silicone O ring in between the servo ears and the mounts and then by the tension of the o ring you can move it forward or backwards.
hope this helps.
the 55 (thats the blue one correct?) is too small for the application.

if you can go with the JR NES 375, theyre heaps good too andfit under the stock mounting bracket
if anybody is interested ni a brand new never EVER used 4s lipo gimme a pm, fits in the rc18t perfectly and is perfect for speed runs, also have a protoform speed 12b body cut for the rc18t if anyone is doing speed runs. it is unpainted and un used on the road, has just been cut and mounted on the car. never got a chance to use it cause my ESC crapped itself
the lipo is a YEah racing 2200mah cont discharge 16c and burst 25c and comes with deans!

This is the first time i have heard anything about needed anything for the hitec servos in a 18t. Are we talking about This? If not, please let me know what I will need?
HS-55 (the Blue one) is .9 x .46 x .95 but is .14 s @ 6.0v
HS-65MG is .92 x .45 x .94 but is .11 s @ 6.0v
The 55 too small? These two servos are the same size.
thanks for your time.
