You should check out Thunder Power packs they fit directly into the 18 t,b and r chassis without modding

Cut a piece of paper, fold it in half and place it between the spur and the pinion.

Try a quarter turn on the diff to tighten it up a bit

I have the same problem, but its quite severe. Every time I hit a bump I can feel it slip because I lose acceleration and it sucks cuz I race my 18T offroad. Mine makes a horrible high pitch noise too. On closer inspection my spur gears teeth were not straight and just ordered a few more. Hoping that they fix the problem.

hey guys,

I recently got an rc18b and i want to go brushless and was wondering what type of BL setup to go with. I heard a lot of people using the mambas but i want to go with another company if possible(I havent ruled out mamba as yet). I was in my local hobby shops and came accross the dynamite c4 and tazer esc and it got me thinking. So my question is has anyone used these products from dynamite?

OR, what i was thinking becuase so many people are using different setup and mix and matching BL motors with different esc's what is the best esc/motor combo for bashing and speed runs? Any reviews would be GREAT!

Much appreciated,
Twisted

Yep the DP gear cover is the best, got it myself, also get the steering drag link while your there, reduces slop by heaps.

I am relatively new to this Mini and Micro Scale site. I have an RC18B that I enjoy running on asphalt tracks. It is currently equipped with a Mamba 5400, Maxamps 1550 Mhz lipo battery, Spektrum radio, and suspension upgrades. My problem is tires for on-road. I am currently running on the stock tires with the pins worn down, but the traction is barely acceptable. Could someone point me to a discussion thread that addresses tire options or share with me what works well for them including tires, wheels, and any adapters if needed. I am open to running foam or rubber.

Thanks in Advance, Pete

Default Mamba 25 controller light just stays red... what gives?

I have run maybe 10 packs through my mamba int the 18T and it seems to be fine UNTIL THE OTHER DAY.during the end of my pack, it started getting glitchey then stalled out. I figured it was just dying and not enough power to operate properly so I parked it. later i charged another pack, put it in, turned it on and she made the normal beep sound, then just stays with the red light on. it wont respond to throttle inputs, but the steering is working properly.

I have tried to reprogram the esc, but nothing seems to get it back to a functioning state.. any ideas?? its not responding at all to the setup button or the throttle...did I kill it?

batteries are good all around, fresh charge, connections good...etc..

Pete
