Default MIP Drive Shaft Install on FT 18T

So I recently purchased an FT RC18T and bought the Associated Factory Team MIP RC18T Swing Shaft CVDS axles for both the front and rear of the truggy.

I am using stock differentials, and on the outdrives for the diff's comes with anodized aluminum tubes that perfectly cover the outdrives to keep them from spreading under torque, when a dogbone/CVD is in place.

Has anyone had problems installing the aluminum outdrive re-enforcers over the nubs on the drive shaft? Am I going to have to grind a few millimetres off each nub on the end of the drive shaft so that the support will slip over the outdrive? Anyone have any ideas on this?

The CVD's I am using are these:

**IF you look at the picture in 3DE's post, you will see the re-enforcer I am talking about, its the blue part around the outdrive where the dogbone/cvd goes into the diff.

Yes, you'll have to take a little material off the drive shaft nubs so that the outdrive sleeves will fit.

I think that this is fairly common when using the mip cvd's with the stock diffs.

Default ERevo Tires

So has anyone tried to put the tires from the 1/16th eRevo on the 18t? I have the 12mm hex adapters for on road tires. I am wondering the adapter will work for the eRevo tires?

Any ideas?

**The small one**

There is no 1/18th Revo...

Default radio crystals

Hi
So Now I have two MT's , possibly getting a third...
First two are the same channel...
Is this auction's crystals ok? Is there some kinda 'dont buy generic crystals'
mantra around here?

I have never heard of "cheap" crystals, but I guess they could be fragile or something. I would try them if I needed them.

Could anyone give me any information on how i might use the little set up button on my esc. I want to turn it down so my son can drive it. I don't know what brand it is but people tell me it's a hobbywing 25A but what motor it is i don't know. Check pics below.

Also i want to put some foam tyres on it but i'm not sure what brand to get. It's pretty much a rip off of an AE 18T (brought in by the australian caster distributer) but the little hex drives measure 8mm.

Thanks

I've just found out the 18T foam tyres use a pin to drive so if i take off my hex's i'm hoping it would work. The only problem i can see is the diameter of the drive axle it's self. If anyone out there with an authentic AE 18 could quickly measure the axle and the distance between the hub and drive pin for me it would be very much appreciated and make it a whole lot easier for me.

Thanks in advance

it should help a bunch. Check the shimming on the diff gears

I wouldn't recommend the aluminum ones. The steel drive pin on the dogbone/CVD will eat up the aluminum outdrive in a hurry, especially if you're running high horsepower. Go with the steel MIP outdrives.

In the meantime, you can replace the stock 2mm diff bolt with a 2-56 and regain your holding power. 2-56 is just slightly larger than 2mm and will give you fresh thread bite.

Instead of cutting the drive pins on your CVDs I recommend using a Dremel tool and cut small slots in the aluminum sleeves for the pins to move freely. You can leave enough material so that you still get the full effect of the support for the outdrive.
