what kind of foams are you guys running on the` 18r.I started running 18r foams now I am trying the miniT foams.Iwould like to try 18t foams, like the BSR type.anyone using the wider wheel foams on the 18R
I'm hearing some clicking under acceleration and hard braking while running my 18T on a dirt track with excellent traction. Doesn't happen on pavement except when nailing the brakes. Wondering if the diffs are jumping and need shimming, or if it is just a normal thing since there is no slipper. Tomorrow I'll put the bow ties back on rather than the dirt hawgs and see if less traction helps the situation. If it is something in the diffs, is there an upgrade to the plastic diff gears?
Running stock motor with a LRP QC2 speedo, hence why the brakes actually work. lol
On the plus side I installed the DP spur gear cover and my brand new spur gear still looks like.... a brand new spur gear. Thing is working beautiful and I am very happy I purchased it. The pebbles in the spur gear was a very annoying problem.
Anyhow since I don't get to play with my big cars anymore I am having a ball running the 18T in my "garden" which is becoming my new backyard track. lol Wifey gonna love that. But it'll keep me home, so maybe she really will.
Hey guys i bought a rc18b last week and have been running it on road and off road, and the treads are pretty well done already. What would be the best tire/wheel combo for just playing around on road and off road? I read the the kyosho mini inferno tires work well, and they are also cheep.

if u can still find them at ur local radio shack, the propulse dirt hawg wheels and tires are cheap and decent....
Finally put on my DP spur gear cover the other day.. Boy that is probably the best upgrade I've bought for my 18T. I've been running in dirt/pebbly area and not had a bit of problems with stuff getting in the spur.
What's this I read about guys flipping the a-arms to lengthen the wheelbase. I looked real quick and didn't see quite how it would work with the shock mounting holes. Anybody explain it to me? Guess I'll have to look some more.

I would also like some info on this. I would like a longer wheelbase, but dont want to spend big bucks on an Exotech chassis or expensive arms..
Anyone have any pics etc?
Hello, I just got a rc18b used and I have a question since this car came with no manual
On the remote control there are 4 knobs, I know that 1 controls the speed, the other control the trim but what about the other 2? and also right above the trigger there is a wheel like a volume thing, what does that do??

I finally did it today. Also flip the rear arm carrier upside down to change the antisquat as well.
To flip everything, just take the arms off and flip them upside down, then flip the hubs so they are going up again and put the ballstud in the other side. Take the rear chassis plate screws out and put a ballstud in there place, take the ballstud out of the shocktower and put it in the front, then reinstall everything. Here's a couple pics. The body will need to be cut or a spacer to mount it a bit higher since the top of the shock has no pocket in the body now. Not really a big deal. The shocks really angle, but you can space them out towards the front if you are worried about it. I ran it both ways and really seemed the same so I left them angled to fit the body better. The truck really did seem more stable on my little track and jumped better. I believe the rear toe is less this way also making it turn a bit better. Those are just my thoughts after one quick run. I'll have to try it some more and compare it to my stock truck also. Here's some pics now..
edit.. forgot that the turnbuckles are threaded way out now. Could use longer ones for sure. I just set my camber and shoe goo'd them. Worked nicely.
: )~

Thanks for the tips on doing this and the pics!
I might try this a little later but Im currently just running mine at the local skate park in the 9' deep swimming pool and is working great!
If anyone has never driven in a pool or a skate park I recommend it. Its a frickin' blast!
The vert pool I can air out and back in air to fakie, grind, roll out/roll in etc.. really fun!
