hey guys,
i went to my LHS today and picked up a Dynamite 2 cell 1900mah Li-po pack and an E-flite Celetric (or something like that) charger and some deans plugs for around $100. i got the charger with like 6 charge settings, 250mA, 500mA, 1A, 1.5A, and 2A i think. i charged it at 2 cell at 1.5A (recommended) and i plugged her in to my Mini-t with the Losi "Speed" motor, which is basically a stock motor with a different label. i had the smallest pinion on it and wow, it was doing wheelies on command! i was running around my room with carpet and it really hooked, so i took it outside for some open running. it is certainly a lot better than the old Ni-Mh pack, with better punch and top speed. but i wanted to see what it could really do so i put on the biggest pinion i had and it really flew. i thought the bottom might suffer but it really didn't. the motor didn't get any hotter than if i were running for a while with the other pack, and the battery was as cool as can be. but, i want to know if i can charge the Li-po when it still has about 1/2 a charge on it. i know you should never let it drop all the way down, but does that mean i can charge it at any capacity? thanks guys

well, too late because i topped it off last night and nothing happened. when i first got it home and plugged it up to the charger (which i was still learning how to use), i took it off charge before it was peaked (i just couldn't wait). so i plugged her back in last night and it didn't get hot or anything. nice and cool, worked fine, but i'll take your advice and not top it off until it's about drained. oh, and the guy at the LHS said not to drain it all the way down, how do i know if i am about to drain it down? does the power just suddenly drop off?

Hey Guys:

I just got my first Mini-T RTR. My question for you all is, can I substitute a Hitec HS-55 servo with the Hitec servo saver directly into my stock Mini-T? The HS-55 has 3 leads and my stock one has 4. Can I rewire the HS-55 to work?

I'm running a SMC 7.2 pack for a battery.

thanks....

sorry man, but no. you're going to have to get a whole new ESC to be able to use an aftermarket servo.

i brought my Mini-t to the track today (i run 1/8 buggy). in between the heats i threw the truck onto the track and gathered quite an onlooking. after a few times of hitting the track, making similar lap times as a 1/8 buggy, the track owner became very interested in it. i gave him the wheel for a minute and he was hooked! he asked me to give him the specs on what i had, because he wants one too! maybe i can start a new class at my track.

kool!!

yes u will need a new rx and esc to use a different servo......wats wrong with the stock servo?...mine was ok .... and still is....

speaking of which if ne1 wants the stock electrics out of the mini t pm me ive got the esc and servo only tho no motor

and..........for all the brushless owners out there.......if ur interested in a wheelie bar for ur mini t pm me aswell........its made out of alloy and the wheel can be anything u want...any kind of wheel.......and it weights practically nothing!

mac thats wat i done to my lipo wen i 1st installed my brushless......it wasnt fully charged and i charged it and i couldnt wait to let it finish so i put it in n ran it n then i took it out again and put it back on the charger n it started messing with me lol..........i only lost 30mah of capacity....probably 10 seconds of run time lol

and wen u are running lipo u can tell wen u need to stop.....aslong as the power drops.... like no wheelies etc....its time to pack'er up n let the battery kool n charge it

thanks for the info PSO. i think i might just get a modified brushed motor for now since the stock motor is already pretty fast with just the Lipo and a really crappy ESC. if i get a nice Novak GT Micro ESC and a Baja or something it'll probably be just right for my track. and maybe a bigger pinion too. the biggest i can find is 15tooth.

if u get a pinion back from losi for the mini t it includes 3 pinions.....1 out of 2 bags will give u a 18tooth pinion

Default New to this forum

Hi all! I just wanted to say hey. I am new here and hope to help as well as learn. I will post pics of my 'T' when I get some pics. I am running a Mamba 8000 and aluminum everything with a carbon fiber chassis.

Has anyone had problems with their motor plates bending? If so, I am in the process of having my employer laser cut some out of steel for me. Let me know if you are interested!
