You don't mention what type of motor you have, either brushed or brushless. You may want to consider going brushless - for less than $55 shipped;

As far as an inexpensive rx/tx combo, I use the Traxxas TQ tx and the Traxxas 2216 receiver. They go as cheap as $20 for the combo on various RC forums.
that hobbywing brushless looks like a good price. what kv do i need for this mini im not looking for speed runs just something faster then stock ?

The 5200kv will be just a little faster than stock with equal or more runtime. The 7800kv will be alot faster than stock with less runtime.

Zippy Lipos are pretty good. Zippy Rhinos are as good as anything else on the market, but the size of the packs can be tricky. Flightmax and others on the Hobbycity site are very much worth the money and will make anyone who actually tries them very happy.

Default Limited Edition Mini T

hey i just bought a Mini T Limited Edition and it seems like the motor gets really hot fairly fast and also i have already had issues with the receiver it completly died on my and i had to steal the receiver out of my mini LST does anyone else have the limited edition and have any advice for batteries, i have a 7.4V 1000Mah 2c Lipo that i had in my MLST would that work with the stock hardware?

the thing seems to move pretty good with the stock motor but im thinking about doing a mamba sidewinder system in it but that will have to wait for now because of money. but any advice would be greatly accepted.

If you are having problems call Losi's tech support. They will fix whatever is wrong. Losi has awesome customer service!

Let us know how it goes. I had problems with my Mini-Baja when I first got it, but Losi replaced it and I haven't had a problem since.

yeah im gonna be calling them tomorrow but im not to sure they are gonna do anything for me because i bought the thing off ebay in "used condition" but when i pulled it out of the box it was brand new no scratches nothing..which with how small they are you can't really drive it without scratching it lol but yeah since i don't have a true purchesing receipt from a hobby shop i don't know what they are gonna say about it but i guess i will find out tomorrow because now i have already put in a new motor and receiver into the thing after 4 charges on the battery.
