By the way, the engine that powers all of these little guys is an Infinity .8cc/.05ci.

Actualy the engine is made by Toki, and you are correct, the Xray, Caos, and Vulcan use the same engine, the only different is the carb on the Caos it is a single needle while the Vulcan and Xray have a 2 needle,

As for the fit and finish I am shocked you would say it better than the Vulcan, the Caos has no adjustments at all, unless you consider all the suspension slop an adjustment the Vulcan is not perfect, but it has far less slop and is alot more tunable than the Caos, there are also alot of options avaiable for the Vulcan

Yes the Vulcan SE is heavier than the Caos, Do you think an all Alum. car is going to be lighter than plastic?

I would agree with Mindcrime since I have 2 out 3 of the cars mentioned. I've frist hand experienced on 2 of these cars. For fit and finish, the Xray NT18t would be far superior than the Vulcan, but the Vulcan can use the Kyosho Mini-Inferno's front and rear suspension. I also have the Kyosho mini-inferno that's why I know that their front and rear suspension are interchangeable. As what Mindcrime mentioned, the Chaos has a rotary carb and a single Chaos. Please see: http://www.piktor.fr/index.html

The Mini/Micro Nitro Truck and Buggy market has now getting hotter. A new 1/16th scale Nitro 4wd truck is out in the market. It's called the "Matador". It uses the same engine as the 3 cars mentioned above. The price is $150 for RTR.

mindcrime,
The Vulcan SE is way more than 2 oz heavier than the Chaos (and yes, I expect the alum car to be heavier). Vulcan Exhaust does not seal, rx box does not stay closed, The radio did not even work with engine running (on the one I had in stock), Shock mounts clamped the shock cap (would have to be completely changed to be effective), Extremely stupid extra shaft/gear that cannot easily be eliminated.
Chaos has a lot of shortcommings, but is head and shoulders above the Vulcan. There is too much slop for my liking, but the RC18 has similar amount of slop & flex, yet works well & rarely breaks.
Chaos has great parts support through Horizon, & parts are reasonable.
The rotory carb does suck. Would much rather have the slide that is on the Xray.

Funny thing is that since the Caos came out, sales on the Vulcan have shot through the roof, with most shop telling me they sent back all of thier Caos cars because they didn't like them....perhaps you just got a lemon...

Sales shot through the roof because distributer started selling them at dealer cost on there web site!
Radio issue may not be universal, but other diffincies are designed in.

Ummmmmmm you are wrong, the dist. lowered all pricing, including dealer pricing, the sale on the web site was for a total of 3 days.....and it was not dealer cost.

well I'm lost, I have not had anybody complain about a radio box issue, what are you talking about with the shocks? the mounting system works fine, if you have an exhaust leak perhaps the gasket wasn't installed properly (not right, however not a design flaw) I"m sorry you don't personaly like the design of the transmission, but it works very well

sounds to me like you just don't like the car...no reason to start calling it junk.
did you voice your concerns with IRC?

Gee that's funny, I don't remember being reimbersed when they dropped the price on the internet!
You are the one that doesn't know what he is talking about. The so-called exhaust gasket (manifold to pipe) is a flat rubber washer that doen't even fit in the mating surface! It looks like a 1/10 or 1/8 in-line system with the gasket left out! Putting the o-ring by the flange isn't going to seal anything.
The shock mounts (on the tower) clamp the shock cap & do not allow for any movement.
The lid to the radio box just slides or snaps in place, and would not stay put. No sign that any part was broken or missing.
Oh, did I mention the 'pot metal' clutch bell?
As far as pricing goes, that is a seperate issue from the techical aspects of the buggy.
I will PM you regards the pricing issue.
