Yes all of the off-road engines use the same extrenal case mould. There are some differences as far as the amount of machining work done inside the case which is dependant on the model of engine the case is intended for. In regards to being able to swap the internals between cases, yes you can do that as the exterior sleeve dimension (so diameter of hole bored into case) and the exterior crank dimensions are standardized even though we do change bore and stroke between different models.

In regards to our new GT engine it's part number is simply the WRXTL21GT. So there is no number associated with it as it's our first one! To give you some specs it's a 5 port so legal for racing, uses a really trick lightened and tripple ballanced crank on top of all of the typical top level on-road engine features and it screams! Easily imho one if not the fastest GT type engine on the market at this time!

Do all the b series engines specific the b2 and b7 ... do they use the same case , or at least are the internals swapable ? I have a B2 and I can get a B7 case relitively cheap , could I throw my parts with new bearings in that case ? Thx , BTW that b2 Rips !! Temps stay on the lower end compared to my speed and triton motor - defiantly getting a B5 or 6 next , I'm gonna look into it but what number is the GT engine just seen a mention of it somewhere , IL be needing a GT motor this summer ! Thx

    Hi Ron,

Do you know about a wrong batch of newer style Werks Turbo Plugs?
I have always used the older one, which did not came in an bag, with pleasure.

Today I had a race, and I did not have the older ones anymore. So I used the new ones.

First plug died in 10 min, the whole glow spiral fall off.
This happened 3 times in total, after that I went with an used old one and the problem was gone.

I am afraid of using the newer ones, since this can serieusly hurt my engine.

Do you have any input on this? I still have like 10 new style plugs.

Hi the way that we tune engines is by starting off with the HS and LS set to flush. We then set the air gap with the reducer removed to 0.5mm. Then re-install the reducer, and fire up the engine. Once the engine is running blip the throttle and let the engine come back to idle and check the idle speed. If the idle is high, richen the LS 1-2 hours, blip throttle and let come back to idle and check again. If idle is still high, repeat until you have a smooth, steady idle. If idle is low, richen LS instead and use the same procedure.

Once you have a smooth, steady idle put the car out on the track and do a couple of laps and then start adjusting your HS to get the top end that you want. Once you have the HS set properly come back into the pits one last time and check your idle speed and adjust it using the LS to get a smooth, steady idle using the sytem above. Once you have that set your engine is tuned.

What pipe would you recommend with the b5-pro for a truggy?
  10. 07-28-2014 12:04 AM - permalink
For truggy use the B5-Pro is best. It have a more aggressive bottom and mid range than the B6-Pro which with the heavier weight of the Truggy will be an advantage.
