That's the best looking cab forward body I've seen, I don't like the boxy ones. Are you still able to buy parts? I've seen some UK sites with GS but it's hard to tell if the information is current. Not to much GS stuff around but I'll keep an eye on eBay for a CLX body.

Brett.. the buggy handles amazing with the battery forward mod, I also saved a lot of weight going from nimh hump pack battery to the life pack battery and replacing the rear battery box to a smaller box helped too.. like I said race weight at 3340kgs isn't bad at all and that is lighter than my mugen.. the CLX out performs my MBX7 everywhere at my local track, no question about it..
the air filter is a proline and the boot is the stock CLX one.. and yes, that is the stock CLX body.. I like the stock factory body.

    p.s.
I haven't looked to see what other diffs internals fit..

Who makes that air filter boot? Is that the GS body? I still haven't converted my CL-1 to cab forward.

Thanks for the CLX pics, that's a great looking buggy! Sure wish GS was still around. I pm'd Jets, the former GS Malaysia guy. He hasn't heard from GS since 09. Have you found any diff gears from other manufacturers that work in the CLX? The old Storm diff internals crossed with the Burns/Inferno.

Hey D8. I sure have forgotten a lot since I built my first CL1 5 years ago. As mentioned in the other pm, I don't know what diff oil combo to start with. I probably used the 5-7-1 GS recommended years ago but your buddy probably has a much better grasp on that. Also, re-assembling the pillow ball suspension, one threaded backer on each side sticks out with about 2 threads visible. Enough to grab with the tips of fingers and turn by hand. Don't remember this much sticking out or the threads this loose. The ball is seated so I guess they must stick out that much but I'm curious if your friends car does. I don't remember using thread lock on these before either but it seems it's going to be necessary. Thanks as always for your input, sure wish someone around here was running GS. Brett
