Default More than 1C charge rate

I've got a 6S MV pack (they rock btw!) and am curious about a couple things.

Can I charge it in series until it hits say, 8.2 volts, then hook up as a parallel pack to get it to balance out so I could cut the charge time down a bit?

Also, charging at more than 1C is awesome (haven't done it yet but would like to, just makes me nervous) but I've read that it can significantly shorten the life span of the pack. Does this apply to MaxAmps packs?

Thanks.

You shouldn't have any issues doing what your suggesting. As long as they get hooked together in parallel it shouldn't hurt at a 1C charge rate. But doing series charging at anything more than 1C isn't recommended with the MV cells. Our cells have been tested at 5C rates WITH a balancer so we recommend that anything over a 2C charge rate only be done with a balancer attached.

Awesome. I appreciate the reply. I've only got a 10 amp charger atm but hopefully will be upgrading soon so this is great info.
