Wow 60C is there no end. Is that true 60C or burst 60C. Because if it is burst then it is really a 30C battery or am I wrong.

i bought one of these but in a non hard case format. im excited to try it out on my soon to be built rc8e, but i hope the hard case wasn't necessary for casual racing and bashing.

Not unless you race ROAR races. Otherwise you'll be just fine.

in general if you wanted to compare a constant C rate to a surge rate, do you just double the constant one?

Very nice pack!

So,it is a burst rating? So what would the C rating actually be if Max Amps rated their packs by constant C,like pretty much all other reputable companies? Does the 30C figure that jdsrace1 posted sound about right?

Yes it's a 30C pack it's still the same old 5250 cells just a different way to rate them.

Jason,
im lovin this pack! one little concern though. the first time i ran it full through (roughly 25-30mins) 3 of the cells were at 3.6-3.7 range, but one little guy was at 3.3. is there cause for concern being that off balance? when i went to store the pack after the drive it balanced out no problemo to 3.9 across the board (whatever the hyperion balance charger have set for store mode)

i just hope i dont have a limp cell.

thanks!

That little voltage difference shouldn't be an issue. Anything over .5 volts out is when there might be a bad cell. The Hyperion's won't charge a pack if a cell gets that far away from the others.

No the 5250 cased pack is not ROAR approved and there are no plans at this time to have it ROAR approved.

If it is not ROAR approved, then why is the price so high?I remember a post awhile back that claimed MA didn't go the ROAR approved route because it would raise the price of the packs drastically.

I guess I don't see what your talking about it's $10.00 more for the cased compared to the non cased. Makes sense to me charge a few dollars more seeing there is another part on the pack. Simple enough.

I think he may be figuring the overall price of the pack should be lower than what it currently is based on the fact that ROAR approvals don't have to be done and have that cost built in from what he understands.

The pack in question though is priced about the same as the Thunder Power 5000mah 4S 40C pack, so I don't think its way out there in price. At the higher end of price, sure, but its not way out there in my opinion.

I do hope though in the future that if ROAR rules really take off for 1/8 electric that the pack or a future pack is submitted for ROAR approval.

Jason, will maxamps be looking to do a hardcased 1S lipo for 1/12 scale? Similar to SMCs 4000mah 1S?
