Example:

SMC pack: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=SUM5240CM

$172.80

MaxAmps pack: http://www.maxamps.com/Lipo-5250HC-74-Pack.htm

$134.99

and that's our price with out any discount.

Plus we are the only ones making your packs fresh as you order with cells that arrive every three weeks. Add our top notch customer service and support and the fact that the packs are built and shipped with in 24 to 48 ours of the order, you simply can't find anyone else that does or offers that.

Best regards,

Jason
and your comparing a roar approved pack to a non roar approved pack. they need to have a higher price to pay for there roar aproval.....maybe max amps packs should be roar approved for the price they charge

The Max Amps 4200ss pack is ROAR approved and I am sure there is more on the way.It also comes with or with out lead weight whatever connectors you want and a thiner pack for Tc's made out of fresh cells when you order it and a free membership with up 20% off there price on everything you order. It also comes with outstanding customer service which is something you can't put a price on. In fact just the last month a representative contacted me and sent out shirts for my Daughter (she won't race with out it) and I and a crap ton of stickers and decals as a customer care package. They are also assembled in Washington by AMERICAN ADULTS not Chinese children.

Beat that with you Chinese cheaper packs!!!

well ill copy and paste from the form that they have to submit

The battery manufacturer/supplier must submit four identical battery packs to the ROAR Lithium
Polymer battery test laboratory along with the original of the completed form. Three of the packs
will be subjected to destructive testing and the fourth will be held by ROAR in the battery archive.
this means maxamps price thats alot of money....well if they paid what they sell there packs for.

Quote:
A check in the amount of $250.00 shall be included in the package containing the battery packs that
go to the ROAR Lithium Polymer battery test laboratory. These funds pay for the cost of performing
the tests required for battery pack approval. The check should be written to: Ling-Kang Tong.

so its a bit costly for a roar approved pack

so what you're saying is that based on a one-shot fee of 250.00 means that they need to charge a higher price?

that's retarded!

Just wanted to say thanks to max amps for some great batteries, i run the 2s 5250 packs in my spec slash, i can make the tripple at our track where no one else comes close, one of the guys that races with me told me not to buy max amps because they are over priced.....he had a lipo go bad on him (not a max amps) so i let him use my extra 2s 5250 max amps lipo, asked him what he thought about it and said holy s&*t....now he wants to buy it from me.

i also have two 3s 5250 batteries that i run in my erbe and savage flux

refreakindiculous!!!
i had another brands cheaper 3s lipos in the savage, got 1 run out of them before the plastic cases were bulged. thats when i started buying max amps.

i have a 2s 6000 saddle in my b44 with no problems, and im going to get a 4s 6500 pack for my rc8e i just picked up.

over the years as a drag racer and mechanic i have found numerous times that you get what you pay for...
I hate buying things twice, sure the first part may have been cheaper, then it failed, now you are buying it again, so did you really save money?

anyway thanks Max Amps for the great product and quick delivery,
Jesse

We have always supported maxamps and I personally own the maxamps 6000 packs and the maxamps 6500 packs (which were designed for the fusion). I just ordered the new life packs as I am very interested in packs that you can SAFELY dump more than 5 amps into and not worry about fires, explosions, etc...

There are several Caster Racing team drivers that buy and use maxamps batteries and we recommend using the discount program they provide, but to be completely honest, I know that 2 of our drivers Tim Mohr and Doug Lightcap are sponsored by maxamps and they win at big electric races.

However, we have also allowed our team drivers freedom of choice in regards to what they choose to run with their fusions. I think there are some other companies out there that are building good packs and offering a fair price. Luckily enough, in a capitalist society, we get competition due to marketing, pricing, and perceived value. therefore, we all win as long as the rc companies profit enough to keep the lights on and the doors open and/or can do research and development to make new and better products. It appears to me that maxamps seems like they are on the cutting edge of technology.

My opinion is that there is always the ford vs chevy thing going on in any industry, so unfortunately, maxamps as being an industry leader, will always get bashers from the other companies and their customers simply because it is perceived as the thing to do. Sometimes, being hated means you are doing something right, but then of course, sometimes this isn't the case. It appears that maxamps always has good customer service and I know from my experience in other industries that no one has a failure rate of zero.

Some people use Maxamps, some people slap Integy parts on their RC's

Just like some people drive Kia's and Hyundai's I guess.
