building found for this winter
We have secured a place to race this winter. Thanks to Keith, Brian and Mr. Gilson for putting this together.
We will be in the same building as last year in Middleton, just moving one spot north. Brian says the floor is in much better shape and the lighting is similar. There are some offices on the end where we pitted last year but we will just pit inside those. Same square feet as last year for the track. Only one garage door to seal up.
We need to set up some dates to work on the new place. We need to sweep it out and also cut in a door to the ladies bathroom from last year. We need a 3-0 door and frame too. Then we can haul our stuff all the way from Keiths (200 yds) and set things up. Hopefully we can get this all done so we can begin racing on Halloween night.
Please post here when you can work on this project for the next two weekends. A trailer may be needed since Keith is out of town this weekend.

I am available to help sunday the 18th and both days the following weekend.
We would love to get the carpet unrolled this weekend if possible to let it relax before taping it down.
Wonder who I will crash into first ....Chad?
Stopped in RCP and they are selling tiny jars of Jack the gripper for $11. Paragon for me thanks.
Keep your eyes open to this thread for set times and dates for setup.

If it is done right you can cut out the rough opening the exact size 1.5" away from an existing stud on the hinge side & fill it in from the opening & do some toe nailing add some screws & patch a couple of minor spots...
The trim covers most of the carnage.
I have a pneumatic trim gun, but no framing nailer.
A header would be needed only if it was a load bearing wall.
A top 2x4 would be slid up in to hold things together.
Depending on the bottom plate, the wall may need to be fastened to the floor in a couple more spots (done from the rough opening).
I can bring a powder actuator to shoot some nails into the concrete so the bottom of the wall doesn't shift.
