Jeremy,

I have a 300 foot tape measure that I will bring today. Hopefully I should be there around noon. It may help us layout things.

I figure my T3 should do alright wit a 6.5 in it... against a slash.
If this isn't put on a leash soon there won't be a need for a Slash class any more, just a little truck class.

Please read my post to Zach on the Marcca website.

No rules have been set. Period.

We are in the discussion and testing phase of rules. Our main goal is to make sure everyone has fun and has a place to run. We are running toy trucks for little wood trophies.

I'll make some notes here then...
If you want to make newcomers feel like they have a chance then we'll need to level the field a little.

Weight:
~ Batteries:
- Lipo 2c = 10.4oz / 295grams
- 6c NiMh = 12.9oz / 365g
- 7c NiMh = 17.3oz / 490g

~ Chassis: (no battery. no body. stock motor, servo, tires & misc)
- 4lb 3.9oz / 1925g

Traxxas says the Slash is 2160g (RTR?)
AE says the SC10 is 2080g (bare bones?)

My radio gear & motor weighs some where near 315g
AE 2080 + 315 = 2395 no battery? 2760g with 6c NiMh?

My Slash with body & 6c NiMh = 5lb 7.6oz / 2490g
With out throwing a couple of trucks on a scale I have a hard time eating the listed weights.

I'm not against running two Corr classes at the same time if there is a low turn out, but there is no comparison to some kid with a stock Slash & 6c NiMh, & a SC10 with Lipo, Slash with hot brushless or my modded layout with stock motor.

I'll gladly run on a track with newcomers in a diffrent division, I'll be the first to admit my truck is not box stock either.

--------

If we make a "Stock Slash Class" it needs to be afordable for all.

Stock CORR

Configuration - Stock Slash chassis & weight distrubition (high Center of Gravity).
Motor - stock, or Titan 12t Equal, 13.5 BL?
Speed con - no limit
Battery - 2c LiPo or 7cell max NiMh
Tires - stock kit type
Minimum weight - 2525 grams? (Slash + 6c NiMh)
SC10 not allowed (sorry)

Pro CORR

Slash (any chassis), SC10, or future SC chassis trucks (with low CG).
Motor - 10.5 BL or 17x1? 19x1?
Tire - 1.75" maxximum tread width
Battery limits?
Minimum weight - none

My 0.02

I try not to get into the slash truck talk since I don't own one - but here I go. I am sure you slash guys are excited with anticipation for the outdoor season and are having dreams of 25 to 40 slashes showing up on Sundays and you are the last one standing with your trophy held high.

OK - Cool, but you need to remember the Rockpile and for that matter outdoor racing has normally been for 1/8th scale Nitro with 1/10th scale secondary. I foresee Slash, SC10, electric 1/10th scale, nitro 1/10th scale and Monster truck as one class. I don't think there will be enough racer turnout to divide the classes, if there is I am sure they will - but if it's like last year, the classes will run together. Remember it's a bigger track and you need more marshalls so it's more like 5 make a class not 3.

Marcca does everything possible to never turn a racer away because of there chosen rc car. They will fit the racer in somewhere.

Last year the rockpile was a very easy going, joyfully run and friendly track, I assume it's always been that way. No body is checking cars for fuel capacity, engine size, weight, tires, well nothing - you just race what you have and have fun.

I hope everyones dreams come true - If the dream I had last night comes true - well - never mind.

One word.
$$$$

That's the reason I have no desire to revamp my 1/8th scale buggy.
Some one will always spend the coin for the hot engine, chassis, what be it.

I'm just saying there can be a split in the class...
Just run them all together if there is less than 12 racers in the two classes.
No one likes to live in the B-Main & no one wants to compete when they're outclassed...
If this is not addressed the SC10 will become frowned upon & the Slash drivers won't be happy.

The other side of the coin- somebody has to be in the "B" main (even C main) or there's technically no A-Main. The CORR class is on it's way to being ruined/turned into another 1/10 electric class. There's now the AE chassis, J-concepts just came out with non-scale tires. If CORR racing is going to stay unique then clubs will have to protect it by doing things like not allowing anything but Slash's (the SC10 is nothing like a slash, low CG) and stock slash tires.

Run 1/8th buggy and none of this is really any concern.

rules rules rules
I say let the sc10 run with the slashes, run what ya brung. I still won't by a sc10 because I prefer durability over raceability. if someone want to go all out and spent a grand on a sc10, he should willingly move up to truggies. just my .02

just have fun, we're grown men playing with toy cars
