Yes hard springs or medium springs sa front, pero sa rear pwede ka mamili if soft, medium or hard gagamitin mo. Why hard in front? Simple, more steering response. Sa rear naman, pag soft medyo di madali pumalo ang likod pero mas madali i-drive at i-control compared to using hard na parati ka mag spin out. The ideal setup according to Yokomo would be, medium in front and soft in the rear. Also a spool differential in the rear would be MONEY. Tapos combo mo ng front one-way diffs for more turn-in speed! Bastos!
Sa gearing, I suggest using final drive ratio of around 6.5. Go down a teeth or up a teeth depending on your preference. Higher = more wheel spin, more torque. Lower = more speed and less torque. Also if you gear your motor lower mas lamang ka sa OVERHEAT, you wouldn't want that would you? So use a tall gear ratio if possible.
Sa motor naman, Tamiya RS-540 would be the best in terms of runtime and speed/torque balance. Use a 23 turn motor pag nababagalan ka, Atlas or Katana. And the formidable Tamiya Super Stocker, the TZ. Sa pagpili ng motor it would be wise to select TORQUE based motors rather than RPM motors for drifting, sa drift kelangan mo torque and not RPM.
pero based on experience there is no such thing as the perfect drift setup since drifting will rely mainly on driver's preferences and skills. My car shifts to the left has no shock oil and has an over cambered rear but still works like a charm sa drift... of course on on road hindi na uubra yung ganon lol.
my advice is to try to mix match the suspension of your car to best suit your style. As for the motors, high torque or high rpm would make no difference if your using PVC. Since you wont pull much on your radio trigger that much.
Just make sure you have stable steering to get the most from your drift experience. And a bashing body is a must!!! ang gaganda pa naman ng mga drift body ngayon sayang talaga i drift pag nag prapractice pa.
last advice is practice practice practice. try to stay away from the ps1 track kasi dyahe yung mga paint marks. andun lang kami kasi wala kaming pera palagi. haha.
advice ko kay kiru:
tigil mo na pag RRC gra grad ka na.... unahin mo yun. tapos non pwede ka na ulit. pwede ka na namin sibakin sa drift. hahaha

OO nga pala! Hehe! Forgot to ask racenut kung anong tires ang gagamitin mo!
Kasi if you're going to use PVC tires, setups would be USELESS. Kasi kahit anong spring rate mo mag dri-drift talaga kotse mo regardless of motor or suspension setup. Yun nga lang for show lang talaga kasi di ka makakahataw at limitado ang steering response. Very tricky i-master ang PVC drifting kasi madulas at kelangan mo ng very accurate throttle control or else bangga ka lang ng bangga or spin out ng spin out.
But if gusto mo ang realistic drifting (though VERY VERY EXPENSIVE) try using the real drift tires by Yokomo, HPI or Tamiya. Medyo rare nga lang sa mundo natin yung mga yun. That's the time na you need to start thinking about your suspension setups, otherwise don't bother if you're just going to use PVC.
Lil's has taken delivery of its new Tamiya DRIFT TIRES!
its the distinctive super hard compound Tamiya Drift Slicks pre-mounted on gold-colored Mugen double-5 mags (pang 6750 boys na mags)
the price is 500 pesos (set includes 2 tires on 2 mags)
Talaga? Whew! Good news to guys!!! Kaso I think the Tamiya rims won't fit in my Yokomo CM kasi ang weird ng design ng inner spokes nya... TUMATAMA sa arms ng kit ko! Sayang ang gwapo pa naman! lol!
Racenut: I suggest you give those Tamiya Drift tires a try. Enjoy yan, realistic pero madugo... sa BULSA!!! Kaso dapat tama yung setup mo na dyan at kelangan ng madskillz. I admit di ko ma-master ang drift tires na yan when I gave those Team6750 TT-01D's a try!
