THE DIRT NITRO CHALLENGE 2015
The first 43-plus minutes of the incredible Dirt Nitro Challenge finale saw four different
leaders that looked strong enough to run away, including defending champion Ty Tessmann,
who suffered an unfortunate electronics failure with about ten minutes to go. Heading into
the closing laps, the battle for the win came down to two former teammates in the latest
episode of the closest rivalry of the last ten years. Ryan Maifield, the hometown favorite in
front of hundreds of spectators (and thousands of viewers on LIVE RC's streaming broadcast),
including family and friends, took advantage of an opening from Ryan Cavalieri to make a pass
and held on by less than seven-tenths of a second to win his second major title in 2015.
Doesn't this look like a typical Podium in 1/10th Scale Racing? Its often 1 of the 3 who win!
With a single ten-minute main event used to determine the Electric Buggy championship,
one wouldn't think there was enough time to make many moves with the track being
rougher and dustier than the brushless buggies had seen all week. And yet the biggest
story of the race wasn't perhaps the fact that Ty Tessmann won yet another title...
but that Ryan Maifield battled his way to the runner-up spot from tenth!

What is IFMAR thinking & doing?!?!?
Yes... rily STUPID...
Worse yet, the IFMAR Off-Road Worlds will be run on a track completely covered in Astro Turf at Yatabe Arena in Japan later this year! From what I was told, ROAR was out voted on this by FEMCA, EFRA & FAMAR.. a Rule change needed to be made to allow for it hence the voting required by all 4 regional blocks. Talk about RIDICULOUS!
