STATUS REPORT


Some words from the organizer

First of all we would like to express our great appreciation for supporting the event that will be held in our country, Indonesia. The event will be held in the capital city of Indonesia, Jakarta from August 28th to September 3rd, 2006. The track is located in northern part of Jakarta inside a theme park called Taman Impian Jaya Ancol, literally translated to Great Ancol Dream Land. It is a closed complex offering some attractions similar to Disney Land in some other countries. The entrance will only be possible through a designated gate; the official at the entrance gate will search people’s belongings and vehicles that want to go inside the theme park.

For accommodation, we are suggesting to stay in either 2 International hotels, which are located inside the complex. The hotels are Raddin Ancol and Mercure. The hotels will provide transportation to and from the track. It will take about 5 minutes to reach the track from the hotels. In addition for leisure time outside the event, there are several attraction points inside the complex, such as HAI LAI International Night Club, COPACABANA Spa massage & relaxing service, SEA WORLD, some good seafood restaurants, walks beside beach for relaxing, art shops, water park including swimming pool and other water playing attraction, DUNIA FANTASI (translated to FANTASY WORLD) amusement park like Disney Land, and much more. For any drivers who wish to go outside the complex, we could arrange a trip by bus to see more attraction outside the complex and these trips would include a tour guide.

At the time of the event, we propose to provide military and police to safeguard the surroundings. Actually it is not necessary because the track is located in a closed complex but we consider providing them so that international driver will feel more secure.

At time of arrival in the Airport, we are suggesting for international drivers to be picked up by our organized pick-up service. We really do not suggest that drivers rent their own cars unless you are familiar with the road in Jakarta. It is not because it is unsafe, we are afraid it would be troublesome if they became lost on the way. The road from the Airport to the Theme Park is a toll road all the way, so there will be no traffic jams. It will take about 30 minutes from the Airport to reach the entrance of the theme park.

Lastly, in the first quarter of this year our country just proudly held Asia-Africa Conference. Many Asian and African countries’ government people, officials, and guests attended the International conference. The conference was held in 2 cities, Bandung and Jakarta. So, we could only say that the condition in our country is acceptable to hold these prestigious events.

FACILITIES

 Permanent paddock of 50 drivers.
 Additional paddock will be prepared before the venue to accommodate the remaining 100 drivers.
 4 permanent toilets for men and 1 permanent toilet for women. Additional portable toilets (20 units) will be installed before the venue for drivers, officials and public.
 A rehabilitation tent (equipped with air conditioning) and an ambulance with a doctor on duty during the venue.
 A praying room (for Moslem) will be provided for drivers, officials and public.
 A permanent cafeteria with additional fast food (i.e. KFC, A&W or McDonald) will be available at the track.
 Fire extinguishers will be installed at various places inside the paddock.
 All paddocks and other permanent or semi-permanent buildings will be equipped with proper lighting.
 Mist-fans will be installed in case the weather is too hot.
 A witch doctor will be hired to prevent rain.
 A separate private area for International Jury Meetings, IFMAR officials and for holding IFMAR meetings will be provided at a special tent equipped with air conditioning or can be arranged at the nearby hotel’s meeting room.
 A separate room for Team Managers’ Meetings and a pressroom.

M'sian drivers take note: The 2005 Pre World Race held is March is already overbooked. ( MAX: 150 entries )

It is likely the entry will be based on merit/qualification on our qualification round which had already completed.

ARMI may be requesting from RCMRC soon our official standing in our league which means some drivers out of place may be unable to participate in the Pre World Race held in March 2006

The organiser of the WC 2006 had already obtained the actual qualifying position of all our drivers as from our RCMRC website.

Those enrol please acknowledge that the Pre World event had been overlook and there may be a posibility some drivers may not be able to compete due to the excessive participants.
