Tamiya is not the in-thing in KL. Most ppl buy x-ray, yokomo, TC3, HPI and losi. A Ta04r cost RM1600... those ppl must be out of their mind, they also sell T-Maxx for RM3700!!! mad bunch of ppl. And they dont carry any spare parts... who the hell will buy from them? they have close tamiya race, must be very very few ppl. I think they should stick to the small batt. race car with the loop track.
They even sell a normal plastic car model for average about RM130 when I bought many tamiya plastic model from metro singapore for SGD25-29.90. I feel they are the worst place you can think of buying a rc car.
dai sheng?...i jus heard tat their price r sky-rocketing....
in JB,there's isn't much of a choice for other cars except tamiya, kyosho bcos for these 2 cars,we can get the spare parts from s'pore easily and not 4getting 2 mention our LHS has so far done a wonderful job of supporting us.

Correct, Daisheng shops are definitely cut throats. For your information, the Xray Evo II is already out. About the same price as the old one. Check it out. Much better than all those Tamiyas.
tamiya cars r not so bad,...the trf 414m car jus won the recent world champion.
well,...dun condemn tamiya...the price r high bcos of the dealers,but their cars r pretty gd...i understand that parts r not cheap n hard 2 find,but their kits in JB n s'pore r pretty well-priced...
hehee...how much is the xray t1 evo2 in KL n where can i c the car???
Spawn: Just came back from Nam Lee. They already have the Xray T1 Evo2 - RM1380.
The second hand Xray was already sold. Another one coming for about RM800. From what I can see the current trend is more towards Nitro here in KL. According to the person at Nam Lee, the last race at Titiwangsa, only 10% were going electric.

Yup seems like a lot are going nitro, me thinking about it too, but I really hate tuning the freaking engine... had a tough time the last time I have a nitro, stupid engine always have some kind of problem, either too little fuel or too much or sometime just kenot start... If you wanna get nitro, its heavy investment, dont buy the cheaper cars, get a good one and you will not regret, come over to nam lee on Sundays between 1-4p.m., lots of nitro guys are there, only batt car is mine.
Recommend you get the nitro tc3 if you are interested, but I think you gonna have to invest at least RM2,500....+ lots of time trying to figure out how to tune the engine. You will probably need Thomas help on this.
I think all cars that are on the market now are not bad.. The winner will be the best person to tune there car right for the track conditions and also who drives the best. So no one should really bag different brands.. Each have there strengths and weaknesses. Personally I own a Ta04S myself, would love a better car like ijnek but not worth buying his when i can get a 414mII in aust for 530 brand new. Plus i dont have the dosh (money) at the moment.. i have seen the pics on Ijnek car and it looks brand new so it is highly recommended if anyone is interested.. In Aust most shops carry Tamiya parts, dont know abt the 414m though.
