New Project Challenge - BL CRT X2 !

New Project Challenge - BL CRT X2 !
Gentlemen,
Inspired by the recent success in converting a CR X1 buggy, I've decided to embark on a truggy conversion. Oh also I'm having a lot of fun driving my Thunder Tiger ST-1 pro truggy with a GO 25 Turbo head. Very fast, power & handles better than a buggy over the rough stuff & jumps (i.e. easier & more forgiving - perfect for an "expert" driver like me ).
Anyway, I have a kit on the way from Mr. Foo. Should be here next week. I have ordered a blue Neu 1515 2200KV motor. I intend to run 5S using a Mamba Monster.
I have also consulted someone in the know as to whether there is any difference between the center diff mount of the X1 & X2. Apparently, the X2 sports a smaller center diff - 48T ! This is the same as the buggy. So, now I'm thinking how to proceed. Maybe I should just order a buggy mount ? Decision decisions...
I will likely use a PQ 5S 6000mah 25C lipo. In addition, I'm also thinking of using mechanical brakes as well. What do u think ?
Gearing will be 13/48. Not sure what is the stock clutch bell size...
Well, feel free to chip in.
The final target is a build a fast, good handling truggy capable of running 1/2hr non stop & faster than any nitro truggy out there.
Let the challenge begin...
Regards,
Joe Ling

Ok time to resurrect this thread. There is progress ! After a long wait, my friendly LHS owner Mr. Foo finally managed to snag a X2 for me. Here are some semi completed build pics :
Here are some more wip pics :
These show the BL specific motor mount. Note that the chassis brace had to be relocated due to interference problems with the motor.
Sadly, I am not able to implement mechanical brake for this conversion just yet. I will go with motor brake for the time being as it is simpler to do. I am going to install my Neu motor (2200kv) & esc (V2 MMM) hopefully tonight. i will use 5S lipo. For the time being I will hijack the 5S5000mah China lipo from my savage for testing. I will likely use PQ lipo later.
If I am diligent & everything works out ok. I should be able to maiden her this Sunday.

Joe Ling

Powered By Mamba Monster Max ! (with custom mod by joeling )
Looks like after all the trials & tribulations, this truggy is ready for a trial this afternoon if there's no rain.

Hi Joe, those sneakers are Jammin's right? Did you glue them yourself?

Hi Razor,
Yep, those are oem Jammin'. I suck at gluing so I had Mr. Foo do the tough work

PS : Those are still sitting on the shelf though. I think they will be too slippery for the track. Crime fighter all the way. I also think that the Panther Komodo dragon 2 will work even better.

Hi,
U can get stuff here :
www.rc-monster.com
www.rcproductdesigns.com
I don't know much about Novak but I have a feeling that it is not up to the same power levels as that of a Neu 1515, the motor that I use in my conversion.
