Post How do you know your bearing needs replacement???

Can anyone tell me how do you detect your buggy's bearing needs replacement? If don't change, how will it affect the preformance? Thanks in advance for your feedback

heh heh heh
u xperiment to yourself first la bro.....
bash your buggy kaw kaw without servicing/cleaning the bearing

then u will know la the performance will drop from time to time
then suddenly your Hyper 7 seize to move
that time u know la when to change your bearing

jangan marah yeeeee
service time when u took out the bearing try spining it
if not smooth pry open the dust cover and check the condition.

if ok apply bearing grease/lube and install back the seal loo

senang cerita stand by la extra bearing

Compare used bearing with a new bearing and you would instantly know the difference. When your bearings movement is gritty that is when you need to junk them for new units.

Sure ceramic is best...one whole set for a car will cost you >RM300 compare to one normal for RM6

Sorry ah.., i'm here to kepoh again... first of all what bearing? diff bearing or engine bearing? to check it, it's real simple, like bro devious17 said, just use your finger to feel it if it feel gritty or got free play, just replace them. if engine bearing, especially the rear/main bearing, you should disassemble your engine, remove crankshaft and use your finger to feel it as well. If engine bearing is gritty/free play, your crank shaft will scratch with crankcase, render your crankshaft to wear out (permanent damage!). it also stress conrod bushing. if the bearing chipped off, it will scratch your piston/sleeve and make your piston and head pitting like a surface of a moon.

Personally I think ceramics bearings are out of place..............especially you are just a weekend basher...........

CERAMICS: Brittle................it's smooth but very brittle and totally unsuitable for RC cars..............................as huge crashes might cause the balls to breaking upon impact..........................Normal seal bearing would be good too.

Hard core racers........who wants 0.10 sec might want to use it.............but maintainance is high.........so be prepare to spend $$$

Otherwise keep it simple and clean.........your cost will come down.

Engine maintainance......conrod every 4 gallon.............

Bearing: When you hear the Cha kueh tiaw sound, then it's time...........if you don't change...........your engine will never peak..........and under utilise............normal when bearing koyak......................run under rain conditions...........without a proper rain filter......................nitro and water don't mix....................or simply.........................warer and tear................normally after 8 gallons.....................for basher you will notice..................the engine is different

Bashing..............you bash tank after tank........non stop........not consistent for race....................flame out, bearing gone, compression weak......etc....

Race engine.........good condition............the positive of all the above..........then your result will be consistent......................that's all..................................

That's all...............
