I tumpang this thread.. i'm planning to buy a charger for GP car, 6V and 9.6V. i'm using 8 Sanyo AA 2000mah nimh batts (Tx) and 5 Energizer AA 2500mah nimh batts (Rx), soldered together. which charger is best bang for buck? i'm currently use cheap wall charge with selectable voltage (pics included), but it gave me a little probem as i don't know the mah output of the charger. so, don't really know how many hours should i charge those batts.

well... spend about rm300 (mayb lower) to buy a mid range charger (c/w various connector heads), u can charge ur tx batt, rx batt, starter box batt.... etc.

what brand to get??? well... just go to any hobby shop, they should b able to advise u.

my personal opinion,... the imax b5 is good enuff liao.

Thanks for your reply, one more question, is it ok if I use 7.2 volt batt for spektrum receiver and servso? those servos of mine are rated 4.8v-7.2v. or it will shorten the lifespan of servo? because most cheaper charger able to charge 7.2v-9.6v. if it ok, i'll solder one more AA batt the existing 6v batt pack. thanks.

im using a tahmazo T15. so far so good. it can charge up to 5A, NiCD, NiMH and LiPO. uses AC or DC.

depends on oneself as well as budget. if u are going to stay long term in this hobby as might as well buy a good charger. personally wall chargers looks dodgy and also it may not have voltage peak detection and can overcharge your cells. then there goes your batt esp batts doesnt come cheap...

just my 2cents

This is just my 2 cents......

To me the Much More Cell Master is ok. I am using one myself. It hasn't given me any trouble yet. There are alot of second hand going around. Price range around RM380 - RM450. To a senior racer, they know it is better to get a very good charger rather than buying a lousy one and ending buying a better charger. It is better to invest in the charger first. But like said, this is just my 2 cents......

I would go for the LRP Pulsar 3 - lifetime guarantee.
