Well, a lot of people had been asking me what the hell is so fun with off road anyway.
It's dirty compared to on road. Yeah I most agreed especially rainy days. But when it come to big air nothing can be compared to it. It not only take guts but technique to do it too. Never easy with the jump. and those who came from on road will agreed with me. cos in on road there's never jump for you to clear, it's just pure speed.
Well, at the moment there's not a lot of keen drivers up north. Even there is, there is no one there to organise the off road race. Back in the early 90's a big event in KL can attract up tp 100 drivers. Furthermore, there's overseas drivers from Indonesia. And these Indonesian are mad about their off road too. They can change brand new tyres for every heat including the final. Talking about hardcore, there's not anyone here or Singapore can match them. But down south there's a resonable group of players especially in Singapore.
Sometimes, our group even travel to Indonesia to race. There's about 16 races in Indonesia alone.
Well, if you people have time come down and see a different kind of thrill. ( 20.4.2003 )

The track here is located in Ancol Indonesia. The track actually belongs to a top driver there who is John Agus. In 2002, he even made the A main in France finishing 6 th position. Racing with the likes of Adrien Bertin (1/8th on road world champion ) Daniel Reckward ( 1998 Off road world Champion ) Yuiichi Kanai ( 2000 Off road World Champion ) and numerous European Champs.
His JP factory modified engine is fearsome. Even the on road engine had it's problems chasing this car down the long straight. At a long straight of about 100 m, his car can overtakes your at a distance of 60 m. Half way mark.
The race here is very well organised with marshall picking up your car not to need to pick up your own car. They really organised a race up to the IFMAR standards.
The 2nd photos was taken with some of the Indonesia drivers. There are 22 plus Malaysia and Singapore drivers here. The entry for this race is about 90 entry.

Please note, the 20.4.2003 is postpone due to problems we have with the SARS.
It is wise for all the racers not to expose themselves especially in the public area since it's air borne.
I will announce it at a later date.
Thanks
Enclosed is Mark Pravidis full option car from Fioroni Italy.

Well, a lot of you may have seen the LSD by Kyosho. The diff which cause a few hundred ringgit.
Take a look at this. This is one which pretty impressive. Never mind about the price. Wonder why a Mitsubishi EVO so expensive, well it's gotta be performance and these.
Taking about option, 1/10th may have a lot but when it comes to offroad, there's plenty and the price is even higher.
A Yuiichi Kanai car c/w full modifications like torsen and stuff may end up a bill up to RM$ 4,500.00 excluding the engine. The Indonesian may use JP FACTORY Engine RM$ 1,900, M SPEED OS Buggy about the same price. Remember at this price, you are still without the radio set.
Of course, there's always a budget side depends how hardcore you are.

dear all off roaders, I have found another RC shop in Sri Hartamas, it is near "soul-out", within this area, and near an fish aquarium pet shop. Open by a friend's friend and they sell mostly off road stuff, buggies, trucks, monster stucks and some touring car but they specialise in off roaders. They have AE, HPI, Ofna and ..... many more.... They just opened but according to the owner, Chris, he is planning to bring in many more parts to support the off roaders, preety impressive stuff they have, someone bought a Titan, stupidly huge truck with insane power, dominator extreme and some HPI MT. They tried out the cars there too, in fact it is kinda fun. The titan was superb, climbing stairs and flying over rams. The HPI was very quiet and smooth but lack in power.
I think I am shifting toward offroaders..... helpp.... need more money.... still no bonus...
Anyway just to tell you that the guys at the shops are very friendly and the tech guys is very experience, used to race touring sedan. He is very good at getting the engines to run well. I like shops that have friendly ppl and some tech help. Check them out....
