Hobby_Haven,
whats the reason that ABS/PVC is not allowed? you guys should allow coz drift tyres are quite pricey, unless you guys got promotion on the drift tyres.

perhaps if you allow drivers to use pvc tyres, maybe in return drivers should be given 50% discount on the registration fees?

Hi guys,
I understand some of you are really unsatisfied with the ruling of no PVC or ABS allowed.
First of all, this is a competition, it has rules & regulation. In a competition if someone cannot meet the rules & regulations they are not entitle to compete or they can choose not to compete. These are your choices.
So for PVC or ABS not allowed for drifting competitions are because they are not drift tires made for RC & not made by the RC industries. Anyway we are trying to start RC drifting with the right steps. Trying to follow with the international standards & rulings, as in future possibly we could compete on international levels.
As for to make keep RC as low cost as possible, well if you guys don't realise drifting in RC is the lowest cost right now compared to RC track racing. For RC drifting if using the drift tires it last longer than track racing tires in term of the compound used. RC drifting also don't require for very low turn modified motors, high capacity batteries, high-end unlimited electronic speed control, high-end transmitter and high quality car-kit/chassis of any brand.
We now have the intention to bring up & promote RC drifting in Malaysia so we are trying our best to get support from all RC enthusiasts and also hobby shops.

Rules & Regulations for RC Drifting Competition
1. EP 1/10 4WD remote control car (any brand).
2. 1/10 scale bodyshell (any brand).
3. Drift tires (any brand). No PVC or ABS pipes allowed.
4. Any turn of motor allowed (any brand).
5. Any capacity of battery allowed (any brand).
Participants will be divided into 2 groups. They will be numbered according to groups. 2 competitors from each group will run the track corners the same time battling & judges will decide based on their drift entry speed, line and angle. One will be eliminated if being judged poor drifting than the other competitor. It will carry on in a pyramid staging.
The judges will be accessing the drifting on these criteria:
Speed
The faster the speed you drift at, the better you will do in the category.
Line
This refers to the section of the track you are using during the drift, the closer you get to the inside of the corner as possible is the key. The more risky and aggressive the line of drifting, the better you will do in the category.
Angle
This refers to the front angle of your car is to the inside of the track during the drift at a corner. The greater the angle the better.
