Planet Sub is one of our new sponsors this year and they have donated a $25 gift card which can used at either location in the Des Moines metro area.

Another new sponsor for the Shootout this year is RockStar Paint. They are giving away gift certificates for free and discounted paint jobs, plus they are making the trip from Indianapolis to race with us this year!

Thanks everyone for making the Hobby Haven Shootout another memorable event! By far this is one of the craziest Shootout I can remember with the extreme heat, giant preying mantises, long qualifying day, freak overnight storms, mud bogged track, tons of sponsors and door prizes, and lots of fast drivers from different states in attendance! But at the end we got the race in, the prizes and awards were handed out, and already I'm being asked about this race next year!

Folks still can't believe that we can organize a large race like this with no full time dedicated race director or Hobby Haven employee in charge, so this is a continued testament to the dedication of the local racers who make this event happen each year! There are lots of folks that I need to thank, and I'm sure I'll miss someone, but here it goes!

Thanks to Charlie, Jake, Nick, and Matt for helping out with track maintenance, taking out the garbage, handing out awards, door prizes, or anything else that was asked of them.

Thanks to Will, Sturgeon, Philty, and anyone else who helped with track maintenance throughout the day.

Thanks to Nick and Rico for their hard working designing and rebuilding the track for the Shootout.

Thanks to James Nelson for giving the track some much needed TLC.

Thanks to Dustin Peckham for providing Double D some relief from the heat with the Cold Fusion pit spot.

Thanks to Brad Miller for updating our trophy stand for this year's Shootout.

Thanks to John Bolten for the t-shirt and pit towel design.

Thanks to Mike Fuller for working the track back into shape Sunday morning.

Thanks to Dave Duncan, Paul, and Chazz Sinclair for attending the race again this year.

Thanks to all of our sponsors and racers that made this event what it is was this year.

And special thanks to Rick and the entire Hobby Haven crew for helping us out on this event each year.

Finally, I have posted my race recap on the Car Action Website now. It has a huge gallery of images plus the A Main videos are embedded inside the story. Check it out here: http://www.rccaraction.com/?p=244062

I also uploaded the images to a separate site that you can look at. Here are the links:

I only had time to shoot videos of the A Mains, and you can view them with this playlist on YouTube: http://tinyurl.com/2013ShootoutVideos

Omaha native Jon Berding was at the Shootout this year and he took some great looking images. You can check them out with this link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8240044...7635343466781/

Till next time!
