Wanted to let Wichita area nitro racers know that there is a group of guys working with the City of Wichita to gain approval to continue the race program out at Emery Park for next season.
It will take a couple of months of work to reach an agreement, but just wanted people to know work is being done in order to keep a race program going.
The City intends to repair the fence around the track and in the coming week or two we may be able to fix the pipes so that people can still practice on the track.
When we get more information we will post the details here.
Anyone wanting to help and support the effort can private message me here on RCTech.

We should wait until the fence is repaired before any work takes place.Or it will just get tore up or stolen. I can come out and help. Any idea on how long till fence is repaired?

I registered EmeryParkRC.com, so soon it will start forwarding to the proboards. If you want, I'm more than happy to redirect it to another website if you set one up. Josh at Hobby Town mentioned building one for free.
So what do we want out of this track guys? Lets post up some constructive suggestions!
This track is for everyone. So what do YOU, the racers, want out of the track.
I would like to see more enticement for beginners to start racing. A free race day worked a little in the past and a "rent a wreck" type of program would be nice.
Long term, I would like to see a big annual trophy/money race.
I think an enticement for new racers is a good idea. I think first race is free? or Helping with track work earns new racers a free race voucher? Just a jumping off point.
Big races would be great! I would like to see involvement with rc pro. We always have a great time at those races. And with kc, okc and topeka all in range of 3 hours, i could see a decent crowd.
But before we run, we gotta learn to walk lol
i would like to see weekly races on sat, and with decent lighting i would also like to see Wednesday night races. Keith was talking about that and i think its a great idea.
