Cool some imformation!!! Thanks Ken!!! See that wasn't hard!! Hey know you all think I want you to fail but it is not the case!!! If you go to the Star Lumber on Greenwich road, and ask to talk to Mike Thurman, he is the store manager!! Ask him if he could help you out with damaged material stuff to help you build the scoring booth. Don't know if he can, but wouldn't hurt to ask. Again thanks for the imformation!!

Flowing track that promotes close racing is always the way to go. It is RC Racing....not RC stunt driving.

Our goal is a layout that is friendly to all skill levels of nitro entrants and creates an opportunity to build 1/8 scale electric and short course trucks as well.
We measured the track and put together a scale template in excel so club members can submit track layout designs and then the club will vote on which layout is installed.

Building a track that can race 10th scale and 8th scale isn't that difficult. I have to build tracks that both scales can race, otherwise our turnouts would really suffer.
I have huge jumps, but I have 10th scale ways over them. (Triples for 1/8th, double, single for 1/10th, etc...)
It also helps to decide on a lane width and stick with it. Lane widths in Omaha are 14 feet...usually...lol.
For beginners, we charge 5 bucks. Our regular fee is $12.
I'm posting our 10th scale class listing, you guys can steal the rules if you want too. I've been using the beginner rules for 6 years now. Only had to tweek them a bit for brushless and lipo...We have 20+ beginner entries every week, and have moved up a lot of the kids to the regular classes as well.
Another thing I do up here that works really well is to have 10th scale drivers marshal for 10th scale and 8th scale guys marshal for 8th scale.
So...if races 1 though 6 are 10th scale, race 6 will marshal for race 1, and then go from there. Then, the nitro heats are races 7 through 12, race 12 marshals for race 7, and then go to the end of the round.
This way you don't get any kids marshalling 8th scales...
And you don't get any whiney 10th scale guys complaining about marshalling 8th scales. LOL
Here's our class definitions...
Here's a dual use track layout from the first half of this year...
Here's the sketch that I drew up before it was built. The obstacles ended up being different but the lanes are what counted for me.

Cameron, some guys are cleaning things up around the track this week. We are talking with the city also to get approval for us to potentially get some people out there saturday to restore the track so that we can practice/play on it for what's left of the fall weather.
As soon as I hear something back I will post it on here.
