Dave, you could probably pit with Jim & I, he has quite a comprehensive pit setup!! I am gonna try to get a bigger table for us, as my NITRO TC3 will need a fair amount of room. It would be sweet to get another Topeka guy to run nitro with me.
Do you guys think the Trinity Sirio 12 will be a good engine? I am still looking around though, in case I see something a little better. I am considering the Orion Wasp, but it's an IPS crank. Trinity also sells the Black Pixi engine, has anyone seen them run??
I think the Sirio is a good choice....any of the Rossi' (Pixy) Novarossi or Sirio will be good....the high horse motors will be a handful on our track...it's around 130 x 70...which is good size...but 50mph eats up 130ft in a blink! So a reg. 3 port will be a better choice for our track....Leave the turbos for Fastlane.
One idea with the crystals is that we may have a full set of Traxxas crystals, and if u need to use them u can rent them for the day for 5bux....that will get everyone to buy an extra set or 2...lol

F.Y.I. The Sirio and Pixy motors are for a big track and I mean BIG. Bill has a couple of them and they can not even begin to open up on the Fastlane track. So I would definetly stay away from these motors.
You just cannot go wrong with a stock Mugen MT-12 or MR-12. Very reliable and fast right out of the box. But if you want faster then Murnan makes some killer modded engines.
Just some of the things I saw and heard this past summer.
I'm not entirely sure the extra power will be of much use..but then again we have to go up against Larry...
Now does that mean turbo plug 3 ports are only legal, or are all turbo's 5 port? I may go with the slightly older RS125 Novarossi...u can get them under 2 bills and they will run with a NS12s. The motor Anthony ran was a modded MR12...and we all saw how fast it was. I can get a Murnan modded MR for 230?????desicions desicions...lol
Larry is no problem. If u remember one of the races I got larry air born I "accidently" pushed him over to a dot and he flew liek 30 feet. And he wasnt even going that fast reall just out of a turn.

Matt
I think the Sirio .12 is a pretty good engine. Thats what I'm going with for my R40! That kid JJ (that came with me to Topeka) ran one a couple times at our track last year and it was just fine for our track. Lots and lots of power throughout the powerband.
I don't know about the Orion Wasp. From the test I've seen, it carries the same (tested)hp and powerband as the O.S. .12TR. Which beggs the question why the .12TR sells for only $119.99 now and the Wasp hovers up at $169.99!
what class should i run next year then expert or sportsman cause i usually dont cause to much trouble in expert and I dont wanna run w/ ppl who cant control there car less then me and hit me. We all spend a lot of time and money on these cars for someone to hit you cause they cant drive.
Like I said, power is great, but its nothing without control.
Anybody who's interested, I got the same .12TR I ran last year for sale. I'm selling it for only $65 and it still runs like new. Heck it only has 1 1/2 gallons through it. Its powerband seems to be perfect for our OP track. Insane lowend, excellent middle, and good topend.
It was plenty fast last year, I'm just a sucker for new stuff, which is why I'm trying the Sirio.

Well first, each driver has to be honest with themselves about their own abilities. More than once here you've mentioned that you couldn't control your car/engine.....so how can you say you don't want to be "with ppl who cant control their car..."???
You never know, you may have more fun in the sportsman class. Where you can actually race with people instead of worrying about "not causing too much trouble in expert"
This is the hardest part about getting people to run in Rookie or Sportsman classes. They think its some kind of knock on their own skills. Its not. Its just a way of competing against people who are your own speed. And trust me, as someone who spent all year getting to race neck and neck with Ian, its definitely more fun to be "racing" than just "getting out of peoples way"
