Hell yeah, 10 minute main. I will try and get as many guys to do it as I can. I will stock a kit too.
Hay you want to hear something funny. You said I needed universals, I ordered 2 pairs?!
Think about it. Only FWD!

I figured I'd give you guys starting up some info for carpet setup. I've used a lot of different setups but have settled on a good base setup that seems to work 90% of the time.
Prep:
Driveline: I've seen it posted recently that the driveline needs to be super free to be fast. And that you need to work the gear case to get that. Number 1, just put the remaining bearings needed in the gear case. No other work is needed. After that...run the crap out of the car. No other hand fitting, voodoo is needed. Just put the car together. Number 2, I would strongly suggest using part #53390 lightweight carbon shaft..for the gears. That's it!
Gear diff: Put one extra shim on each side when building and tighten until there is just a little diff action and your set.
Shocks:
These are the most important. Take your time. For carpet here is what I start with.
Front: 70wt oil. 2 hole piston - short blue spring - 5mm internal spacer
Rear: 50wt. oil 2hole piston - short red/yellow spring - 3mm internal spacer
Swaybars: I use the stiff silver in the front only. When we go to Omaha you'll need the rear black too. But for Fastlane just use the front to start.
Tires: I have also heard a ton on what inserts to use. I'll save you a lot of time. Just get the #53255 firm sponge insert. That's it...no double stuffing etc.
Now for tire compunds I am a little different than most. I use Tamiya S-Grip fronts and Tamiya A slicks in the rear. I would suggest starting with the kit supplied tires front and rear first. Most people use S-Grip fronts and M-Grip rears. Make sure to glue the front outer sidewall. Thats it...go race!
That's all your getting for now you filthy bastards!
