We are in the process of purchasing a mobile drivers stand and an AMB computer system.
We are also working on a couple of locations for a track that would be big enough for 1/8th scale racing as well as 1/10th. The areas that we are looking at now are in the Wentzville/O'Fallon area, but we are not opposed to trying other areas if the location fits our plans.
If anyone has a location in mind, please feel free to post your ideas here.
We would like to find a spot that could be sectioned off and kept as a permanent layout that would not be disturbed by auto traffic. To allow for 1/8th scale top speeds, we would like to find something with a track surface that is 100'X250'. Bigger if possible, but not much smaller than that. For obvious reasons it would need to be flat and level, but we are prepared to repave it with a fine asphalt surface that will prolong tire life and provide a smooth running surface.

As for the carpet, I have been very busy and have only raced once since the regionals over a month ago. I also believe that after our big race and the regional, the excitement has worn off for many. It almost seems like the entire winter season lead up to those races and after they were over, the season was over. I think that next year we need to wait until late March to have our big race to keep the excitement building until then. I still want to run carpet, but not if there isn't anyone there.
As for the asphalt, I was under the impression that the Roxanna track would be mainly for electric because of the size. I am interested in running 1/8th and that track does not sound like it will be big enough. I would like to run electric there though, since it sounds like the gas racing will be only every other week.

That sounds good Chris. What are you doing about lighting for Friday nights?
After talking a little more about our track, we are leaning more toward a 100'X200' layout rather than the larger layout mentioned before. If anyone knows of any possible locations let us know.
I will let you know that if we are unable to get the places that we are hoping for, we do have a "for sure" back-up plan for a surface that will have to be available for vehicle traffic during the week. We would like to stay away from that but if that is all we can get, we will be racing there!

10-12 foot lanes would be extremely tight for gas sedan. I think you would need at least a minimun 15 foot lane. I'm not saying it can't be done, but with lanes that tight and high speeds your gonna have alot broken cars. Sounds like a fun track for electric sedan thou. With only a 50 width it would be a very interesting layout. You could actually break the 150 in to two different staights. Maybe the first being 60 or so feet dive infield and then back out for the remaining 90 feet.
