Cmotif,
Just wanted to say I really like how much work you do to expose people to RC. I've read many of your posts. Keep up the good work !!

I'm just joining the Mini Z ranks. My first car, An MR01, should be here tonight and I just ordered an MR02. I've also purchased a Kawada Tripmate and looking for an ABC Hobby DTM. Small scale is addicting !!! I've never had so much fun and the stress level is so much lower than in 1/10. You have snow and rain.....we have heat, rain and hurricanes !! Gee....moving inside to race Z's seems like a no-brainer.

It looks like some good things are happening in small scale. I think we'll see some continued growth and some cool surprises in the near future.

BTW....have you tried the new oval car conversion for the F1 chassis ?? I'm not big into NASCAR...but this should help grow more interest in Z scale racing. www.miniraceway.com

Mini-zs are the bomb! I really enjoy the low maitenance, and the good racing that you can have when you have another good racer racing against you.

It is too bad that the small scale cars are so Japanese and Chinese. Meaning that they have also sorts of cool Japanese cars based on Japanese culture. I wish too that they would have some Nascar bodies available. I would buy up a Bobby Labonte and Ryan Newman right away if they were available!

What hop ups are you going to do to your mini-z cars?

Did you check out the link !!?? You can get all those decals for the Mini Z Cup Cars. The body is the same but you can sure put your fave driver on there. Apparently the cup cars are going over very well. Rumour has it that Kyosho may help sponsor a US National series.
I've done no hop ups yet but I'm planning on it. I just got my new MR02 Enzo in the mail today. Wow, the 02 is so much quicker right out of the box. I'm already planning on adding some new suspension upgrades and a few alloy pieces. Concentrate on handling first.
Does anybody out there know what it would take to change from 27mhz am to 75 fm. It sure would be nice to have some more channels available.

I have checked out the link now. I wish that the bodies were for the standard Mini-zs and not the F1s. The F1s are cool, but I still have four of the regular mini-zs.

What motors are you running in your mini-zs?

Right now they're both bone stock. The MR02 is SO much faster than the 01 right out of the box. It actually surprised me. I'm trying to learn as much as I can about the various chassis first and then I'll start learning about the hop ups. I'm planning on getting an F1, MR02mm and a Monster (isn't the chrome version TOO COOL !!! ) .

Have any of you tried different types of tracks?? IE: carpet vs. rcp vs. concrete or asphalt. I'm seriously considering the RCP as it appears to be the standard and has few vices.

Also, how do you like Mini Z's compared to 1/10 scale (assuming you have run 1/10 ) ?? I've asked this question before but the Z cars have come a long way in a short period of time. I'm amazed at the available hop ups and performance.

Racing surfaces. Mostly I prefer to race on commercial carpet. It has a good amount of traction. Vinyl and hardwood floors are just too slippery. I went to a Mini-z and HPI Micro track that was painted with a special paint that in non-slip and normally used around pools.

I have tons of upgrades. I sold of my hottest one recently. It has a full Squat chassis, where the cells are all lying down and soldered in.

I still have assorted Squat parts, a few modified and x-speed motors. I have a great big baggy filled with wheels and tires.

Own of my cars has a Megatech motor, and Megatech machined aluminum wheels.

Have a few Mercedes DTM bodies, a few Peugeot 206 bodies, a couple of Beetle bodies, Audi TT, two WRXs, Mini Cooper, Skyline, and MR2 Spyder.

I would like to see a photo of your cars if you got them. How is the racing where you are?

I went to the NASCAR race at Phoenix this last week, and picked up 4 shirts for guys in our RC club here.
