Default Hypothetical: Indoor Offroad Dimensions

If one were to be looking for an off-road indoor facility for a 1/8 and 1/10 electric friendly clay track. What would be the ideal interior dimensions for track and pit area?

100x80 or 120x100 for the track. That will still be a little small for ebuggies but workable.

That is 8,000-12,000 square feet right there. Add another 2-3,000 square feet for pit space as a minimum.

For comparison so you know the shop and track we had in cartersville was a 5000 sq ft building, the front (shop & pits) section was 1200sq ft of that, I don't recall what the dimensions of the track were but it should give you a vague idea of what you'd be looking at anyway.

With a track large enough for ebuggy, you would probably need 25-30 foot ceilings to have room to make the driver's stand tall enough for good viability.

Good track to reference off of is West Coast RC. The square footage of the offroad track is 6900 sq. ft. I think 8000 sq ft would be good for both scales. Built in pit spaces that you can rent would be a great way to get cash flow and track membership can be offered which would get discounted practice and entry fees.

Wish list:
Pit space for 100 dedicated spots and enough for 50 people to bring their own tables.
Epoxy painted floors
TVs to show scoring
Concessions and vending
Hobby shop would be ideal
Good parking
Overhead doors for access and can be opened on nice days to reduce A/C use.
Ideal location: Marietta. Central location and close to hotels and restaurants for larger races.

If you need help with space planning and codes let me know. I'm a commercial interior designer in Atlanta and could help space plan and assist for free. PM me if interested.

+1 haven't been but the pics look great. Flowood is another good track that handles both scales. It's owned by the local county/city in Flowood, Mississippi.
