TEAM TURTLE RACING @ The Warehouse
First off I want to say WOW what a weekend. Some of the fastest electric guys in the southeast converged on Helena AL for the 1/10th Shootout at Warehouse Raceway. The top 20 in Open 2wd buggy were only seperated by a few seconds during the qualifiers. Open SC was the same story, top 10 where a very close match. Alan Burton put on a very good show for us and by the end of the day traction was insane with some guys running slicks. I am very pleased with the performance of my drivers down there. We had a bit of a learning curve to find the right setup for the track conditions. After the triple A-mains here is to the best of my knowledge how we ended up."Still a little woozie from the traction compound fumes"
Shay Brand TQ and 1st in Open 2wd Buggy and Open 2wd SC
John Crawford 4th overall in Open 2wd buggy and 4th overall in 4wd SC
Blane Allen TQ and 1st in "blinky" 17.5 SC, TQ and 1st in 4wd buggy, 2nd in 4wd SC
Gene Samuels 5th overall in Open SC
Very strong performance from the rest of the guys throughout the rest of the field of a very strong group of drivers.
Thanks again to Alan for hosting the event.

I think I ended up 10th in Open SCT. I had a bad run in the first A-Main and then broke in the 2nd and I did not have parts to fix my truck.
I did not find a tire that worked for me in 2wd buggy till the second qualifier on Saturday. Once I found that tire(heavily sauced red taper pins for the curious), I got more consistent and moved up the ranks but not far enough for the A-main.
The stadium truck got cannibalized for parts to fix my SCT on Friday so I did not get to run that class at all.
Buggy grip is great but those fumes are evil. My sunglasses fell on the brush I was using and destroyed my sunglasses. It was time to replace them anyway.
I had a great time and I hope to get to go again.

I like Gene, Alan and Richard had a great time my car really only felt good in my Main race I started in fifth place after three laps I was in second place ten feet behind the leader, my Losi was lethal I could hit every mark and pull all the throttle I needed, then I landed it hard coming off the big jump broke my rear bulkhead. I was then out of the race.
So I had to suck it up and accept the fact my race weekend was over, the only good thing I could come up with was I had a good time racing with my friends, made some new friends, and was able to start my three hour drive home early so I could get home by 10 pm.
Did Curtis run the B4 in the mains?
