No I never got one. Went off to school and never bought another radio until Spektrum was on the market.

Thumbs up

Wow, this brings up lots of memories. When I was around 12 I took my first R/C a Tamiya Blackfoot to Ricky and Freddie's dirt oval. Those guys were great. Freddie had a RC10 with a trailing arm conversion that I thought was the coolest thing ever. Anybody know what they're up to now? Or Ricky's son John-boy? I remember being blown away when I discovered the Dalton Raceway. I spent many weekends at both of those places and the indoor place Ricky and Freddie eventually moved to.

Almost forgot to mention I went to Savannah for the ROAR races one year too. So where do you guys race now? I'm just now getting back into the whole R/C thing.

Oh sorry about that. I'm in Chattanooga, TN and looking for off road and dirt oval. It looks like there's no shortage of those! I can't wait to get around to some of them. Thanks

I hate to say it but I think they have both passed away. Ricky and Freddie. About the trailing arm RC10, one year a guy showed up with an RC10 that had trailing arms from a Kyosho Tomahawk. I can't remember what race it was but that car layed the smack down, and inspired several conversion kits. Me and MXRich had a car that we traded back and forth. It was the front of a totaled RC10 grafted to the back end of a Scorpion. It was a neat car, but George sold it outside the family. Traitor.

The orginal Scorpion and Tomahawk had front and rear trailing suspension.

The car me and George split had trailing arms in the back and the RC10 front of the time.

Man I hate to hear that. I always hoped I'd run into them again someday. Thanks for the info. though.

The trailing arm car I remember may very well have been something like what you mentioned. I do remember it being the envy of the locals when Freddie unveiled it. When I saw it, it had a green and white painted body and white six-hole wheels. I still want an R/C10 with a trailing arm conversion!

Thanks
