To put the pack in our BMI cars, all we have to do is remove the battery piece that allows us to move the batteries forward or backwards.

After that you get a scale and start adding weight to get the car back up to legal weight which is around 800 grams. I don't know the exact weight.

Thumbs up

Only Danny and Blake have 1-cell lipo setup on their 12th scale cars.
Danny: CRC Gen-X, SMC 4000 Lipo/13.5
Blake: RC12R5, SMC 4000 Lipo/19T
Keith Sawyer is thinking about switching to lipo.
I will post Danny's car here soon.

How do the lap times compare?

I might be able to afford to get the lipo, esc and motor after the holidays.

They are on the same pace as 4-cell NiMh.
Danny qualified 2nd, Blake 4th.
Danny had a bad luck with his receiver pack and retired while in 2nd place during the main. Blake finished 3rd in the A.

The receiver pack plugs into the "Batt" plug on your receiver. It gives the servo and reciever enough power to run(6 volts normally). 3.7volts is not enough for the servos to work properly.

It's still listed as the featured class, so I hope so. Especially since I plan to run stock at the 'Birds. But 13.5 would be fun, too.

if you run the 1 cell lipo pack... you have to run a 13.5 or 19t to be equal with a 17.5 or 27t on 4 cells

Chad is right.
1 cell Lipo is 3.7 volts. In order to have the car running the same pace as 17.5/stock, you have to use BL 13.5 or spec 19T brushed motor.
