Hassle factor. I never was very good at even getting it to start even though I know the truck I have is in excellent near-new condition (ie: good compression, no air leaks, etc...) All in all I've basically decided that given my time constraints the only practical way I'll ever get around to racing is the low-hassle of the electric. With the batteries getting better every year and brushless coming down in price it's likely to not be much of a disadvantage performance wise for much longer anyways. Technically, it really isn't now if you spend enough except for in runtime. I like the sound of Nitro as much as anyone but I just don't have the time for it.

Maybe we can let the brushless slashes run too please? I have an extra VXL system someone can borrow while I run my Sidewinder.

When I first started running Nitro I started with a used OFNA that drove me crazy. When I was able to get it going it would run fast. But it spent more time on the pit table that on the track. I finally got ride of it and everything that had to do with it I was going Electric....But my wife pushed me to try again the Nitro but this time a new one so I got a great deal on a new Losi AfterShock and that was about 6 or 7 months ago I have had a blast with this truck. I have only tore up one part so far. Know we have also purchased the Electric Losi Desert Truck for my wife to run and that is a great truck so far too. We are not what you would call racers but I do enjoy being able to go out and run on the track without constant table pit time.
I believe there has been talk of running and open run what you brung Slash class also guess the brushless could run in that class. Im sure if enough can show up we will run it. I wonder how many folks have the modified Slashes? I know that there were a few talking about getting them so they could mod them but the the slayer came out??????
