im ok with still running 4 cell. Lets just get this going and try it as the rules are just to see how it goes.

yeah with the HPI tires you get the varying widths front and rear so its a very scale look and it puts everybody on the same playing field as far as mechanical grip of the tires goes therefore everything is left in the setup of the car.

Keeping it 4 cell also keeps costs down as lipo has its definite advantages and as stated going 6 cell more or less turns this into stock touring.

There is currently discussion about allowing Lipo with 21 turn brushless motors to keep things even. If you bump it up to 6 cells, then its just stock touring with a different look...

Kent, I see what you are saying on the wheels and tires, but thats what makes the class what it is... With everyone running the same tires, it evens out the playing feild. Also, the width is different from front to rear (31mm in the rear and 26mm in the front)
I dont like it,,, but you are right. OK then, straight USVTA rules. I guess I need to make an investment too.

Sounds like this class may be too complicated for me. I think I'll just stick to touring and Mini.

If you think its too complicated then you have the wrong idea. Since its much more simple than touring. I guess its between touring and mini.

*Touring car chassis
*Trans Am body (good example is the HPI Mustang, Camaro, or Cuda, but there are racers using Parma shells. I saw one person with a 69 Alfa Romeo which is a legal shell since it actually did run Trans Am. I personally wouldnt object to any of the HPI sports car shells, including Lamborghini, Pantera, or just the newer Mustangs)
*HPI Vintage Wheels and tires
*4 Cells
*No Down force. (Cosmetic wings are allowed)

Correction, there is a very specific list of shells that can be used. Which I personally think is BS but hey its not my class.
HPI part numbers:
17510 - 1970 Plymouth AAR 'Cuda
17519 - 1966 Ford Mustang GT
17508 - 1965 Ford Shelby GT-350
7494 - 1968 Chevrolet Camaro

Parma part numbers:
10143 - 1969 Z28 Camaro
10141 - 1970 Boss Mustang
10113 - 1970 'Cuda

Pegasus Hobbies part numbers:
PGH4001 - 1970 Camaro SS
PGH4002 - 1970 'Cuda
PGH4003 - 1970 Mustang

I would love to run this class, but i have converted to lipo's in my electrics and have no wish to go back. I do plan to build one for parking lot bashing though. If there was a way to slow down a 2s lipo, I'd be running with you guys.

i would hope we would run this on sunday with the normal races when we go back outside. The weekday races are killing me with sleep. We need the daylight to run these outside.

Again, this would defeat the purpose of the class... The whole idea behind running the late 60's & early 70's bodies is right in the name... If you ran the newer body styles then it just wouldn't be the same class.. Besides, people are wanting to use the newer style bodies for the pro 10 class.

my initial thought was to possibly just add this as a class to the GO R/C club since we are really trying to push for a way to attract more people to RC. Never been to PT thought but i wouldnt be opposed to running on sundays preferably opposite the GO R/C schedule.

on the plus side i just picked up two HPI Pro4 rollers and a Pro 3 roller to run in this class...just need to get some electronics now...anybody wanna trade a pro4 roller for a stock class brushless setup?
