Default HG P402 1/10 Crawler Review

Here is my review of the HG P402 1/10 Scale Crawler:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Up7OdsZDUCI

Here is a link to the actual car. http://goo.gl/ptBy2Q

From when the order was placed to showing up at my door was about 3 weeks, which from China is about average. If you have ever ordered from RCMart/Hobbyking/fill in any other place its pretty comparable.

I'll have a first drive video up in the next few days (it's currently 105* here in sunny Texas!)

tl:dr - A pretty good bang for your buck crawler which can let you dip your toe into the scaler world.

Yup! Took a stab at adding some more production values to this one.

https://youtu.be/cE5B4QPCOfs

Overall a good crawler! Has a couple items that could be upgraded but for the price it's an excellent bang for the buck.

A few takeaways:
- The departure angles are pretty good and the tires work well.
- The high/low transfer case is really slick! This would be the first item I would add (a servo to use the remotes shift-on-the-fly switch)
- The steering servo is pretty weak and slow. Slap in a hitec 645mg and be done with it.
- I got about 20-25 minutes of run time

Feel free to post up some questions and I can answer them as best I can!

Does anyone know if this supports a custom RX or could it be modded to accept one? Or is it pretty much restricted.

Also: what's US PLUG vs EU PLUG?

They are talking about the wall charger plug. So if you live in the US you'll want the US plug. Servo appears to be iof standard size so replacing all the electronics shouldnt be a problem.

Funny how the US plug adds $25 to the cost..

Yeah, and the US plug is out of stock. I don't particularly care though because I can charge the battery with my x1 touch I think... I'd just need the right connector.

Honestly, get the EU plug if you have another charger and toss it. The stock plug doesnt work very well (I ended up having to glue it in to test the charger) and it only charges through the balance port. Plug is/was very loose.
