We Cater to Nitro Racers!
Hello,
I run in the Florida On-Road Gas State Series in 200mm Nitro Touring Car.
There are many places to race in Florida. But most are for electric cars or off-road vehicles.
There are only 3 dedicated tracks in Florida for Nitro Racing. Fort Myers (Home of the winternats), Lakeland (home of the Region 4 Championships), & Go Racing Hobbies (But it's a very tight track).
However, in Boynton Beach, the Palm Beach R/C Racing Club wants to help draw in more Nitro guys.
We ran a 2 hour long endurance race that was super fun! We had a small amount of competitors for our first race, but everything went smooth and most people had a good time. Me teammate and I won the event with about 425 laps (on 2 sets of tires!!).
We are looking to do more of these races in the future. Maybe some of the electric guys would like to team up with a nitro racer to run with them. We would like to see a full field for these races and are even thinking about adding a second class to the race for a mixed field, like Lemans racing does. Say for instance, 200mm nitro cars and 235mm on-road, or super nitro cars together at the same time.
We would like to see more racers come out and hang out with us. We will be running this Sunday beginning at 11 am at the track and will have our normal test and tune night this Wednesday beginning at 8.
