Hope to be joining you all racing this fall/winter, what tires are recommended for 17.5 touring? Also, where else do you race in the area, does anyone do regular weekly club racing?

Moose was my nickname for 30 some years. We race about once a month now in the summer, heat, vacations, family honey Do's have caused a drop in attendance for now. Normaly we race every other Sunday. In this heat everyone is using 36r tires of different quallity brands, when it cools off maybe a bit softer. No other electric on road racing in a three county area that I know of. Within 10 miles of our little track is Fort Myers R/C Car club where they race primararly nitro onroad, home of the florida winternats. They only race about 7 to 10 times a year. Florida has a couple of series for offroad, one nitro onroad series and an electric onroad series. Most take a two or three month break for the hot summer months.

Excellent info! I'm primarily a 1/10 off-road guy but the thought of racing sedans sounds fun. Not sure if I'll do the nitro thing but maybe. I'll keep my eyes posted for the off-road series and order up a touring car for some 17.5 action with you guys Xray t4 2016 is the benchmark for touring cars I assume?

I would agree that the 2016 t4 Xray would be the very best, I just did a quick basic set-up on one for a new guy @ the track this Sunday and it was a rocket.

Just ran 2 rounds of quallifiers because of the heat and we beat the threat of rain. We will do only one race in August. I will post that date when its decided.

Next race will be held on August 21st, hopefully it will be the last really hot one!

Well, the first thing that I must say is after getting the trailers back home and becoming alive again, I did some digging for my really old ford engine books. And sure enough it was indeed the 427 sideoiler that they made the sohcammer out of and not the 429 as I had remembered. So I would like to welcome Daniel B. and his father ( sohc_427 ) to our thread. The young man came out with a Short Course truck, never been on a track before, learned step by step in his first qually and was running with the big dogs in his 2nd race! God these young guys can learn so quickly!

On Sunday we got 1.5 rounds in before the rain shower hit us. Everyone had fun and no one seemed to be upset, we all had fun and the rain was just a trade off for the heat. Hopefully we will be racing in cooler weather very soon.
I am currently waiting for answers from a couple guys that I depend on to help set the track up on race days. Sept. has the fla. state nitro series starting up, and we have the electric on-road ROAR nationals going on up in northeast fla. so I'm trying to pick a date avoiding all this. Will post race date soon!

Sunday was a fun day of racing, Corey and I had a good time thanks to Jim, Chuck, and Martin for setting up the track and making it possible for all of us to race. Any one interested in racing with us at this track will definitely enjoy the race track. Looking forward to the upcoming race.
