I'm considering putting together just for racing LCRCR.

What's everyone running chassis wise in VTA?
the same for Spec 17.5 GT (is the class still active?).

Hey Joe,

How many do we need to get another class going?

Trying to get enough to run USGT (21.5, 2S, 4WD touring car or Front Wheel drive chassis, open rubber tires) - realistic bodies.

Protoform has at least 3 currently available bodies out:
http://racepf.com/touring-car-190mm/pfm-10-clear-body/
http://racepf.com/touring-car-190mm/...28-clear-body/
http://racepf.com/touring-car-190mm/....r-clear-body/

as well as Tamiya, HPI, etc...

I discussed with Jeff and he is interested in running as well.

Thanks,

-Rich

I love WGT and Spec 175, but would rather run rubber-tire cars outside on asphalt.

Will bring out what I can get together this Sunday.

Thanks,

-Rich

That sounds awesome. I like realism.

First time I came to Jeff's and saw cars with solid axle & kingpin springs...

Also what up with Mini? I think M-chassis is a good way to get people interested, it's fun, and a good match for pavement racing.

It's from the folks that created VTA - you can read more info on it here (scroll down to the USGT section):
http://www.usvintagetransam.com/rules/index.html

I wouldn't worry about the spec tires and all that for now, just 21.5 motors, 2S batteries, blinky ESC's, 4WD of Front Wheel drive chassis, rubber tires, realistic bodies. Also, a 250 gram weight advantage for the Front-Wheel drive cars is pretty cool.

We had run them for a little bit outside on the asphalt at Jeff's RC Studio before he switched the outdoor track to Clay/Dirt and it was a blast.

Thanks for the info. I want to run a mid-engine chassis with a mid-engine body. E.G. Zonda, Ferrari, McLaren, NSX, Gallardo, R8, Ford GT, Carrera GT, 918, etc. Also I would petition to allow the HPI Pantera body for VTA.

I think all sedan bodies should use a front-engine chassis... this business of putting a mid-engine chassis with a sedan body...
