Hahahaha Man,I could actually kinda drive back then... Traded TQ back and
forth with Phillip "no shoes" Wright all weekend in Stock Truck, then he hands me the win in the main. Highlight of my RC racing career and it was 17 years ago.
Can't even make the main these days...
Those were the days tho, what'd we have 1500 mah SCR's and locked
endbell 27 turn handout motors? Iirc, they took my motor after the
main and destroyed it to verify the # of winds...
THANKS for posting those!

Yesh, I remember the spending spree that took place getting ready for that race. I bought a new set of tires and wheels for my truck and 2w, almost $75.00 for all 4 pr. $10 for ft, $12 for rear, $5 for wheels. Trucks were a few bucks more, I think $17.95 a pr?
And they lasted more then one heat, or even one weekend!
1700SCE in modified with 7 cells and a 15x4 Big ed, or 6 cells and a Juniors choice...12x2 I think?
Some guys ran the Motown missle, or Reedy (?) star, MANIACS!

That is true, there are a lot of gas guys that like 180's and a big jump, then another 180, leading to....a big jump....And another 180.....
Like putt putt golf with RC cars, just need a windmill.
Club level racers should be able to land ALL the jumps consistently, rather then pot luck. It's bad when the best drivers are getting marshalled every few laps.
I wonder where the "new racers" are at some of these style tracks being built nowadays?
How does the hobby/sport survive without new racers, father/son, people who just bought RTR's and want to try racing, etc.?

I dont mind the big jumps. They are a lot of fun. But some layouts are like taking a dog out back and putting him down.... Like Jeff Harris said, it's a turnmarshall's nightmare on some tracks, and someones gonna get a truggy to the head..... Viva la 1/10 electric! Where the champs learn how to drive......
