Roar-N-Soar Short Course Race November 7-8, 2009

eXtreme Hobby Zone will be putting together a BIG 2 day Short Course Event for the Traxxas Slash, SC10, etc at Fantasy of Flight's Roar-N-Soar Event.

We will be racing November 7-8, 2009 with practice on Friday. The track will be similar to the TORC series track that Traxxas built for their Crandon Race back in June.

$25 will get you 2 tickets for the event plus that will include your race fees for as many trucks/classes you wish to race. You will also receive two passes to come back and enjoy Fantasy of Flight again. Free parking and room for trailers.

Prizes still pending but we have JConcepts, Traxxas and a few more willing to commit plus Fantasy of Flight will raffle off free hot air balloon rides and Bi-plane / Stearman rides just for the racers. Plaques or trophie will also be provided!

Count on a Slash Spec Class and an Open Class.

Come out and enjoy Roar-N-Soar plus get some fun racing in as a bonus!

If there is interest in other classes, we are open for suggestions.

Registration package includes:

Show participation for two (2) days, November 7 and 8, 2009
Event admission for two (2) people for two (2) days, November 7 and 8, 2009
Complimentary trailer/tow vehicle parking
Prize and award eligibility
Opportunity to attend event participant barbeque
Two (2) complimentary passes to return to the attraction (some blackout dates apply)
Early Bird Special
Now – Sept. 30, 2009
Participant Registration $23 (including sales tax)
(Car Show, Slalom or R/C Truck/Buggy Participants)

Entry fee will include race fees for as many trucks you wish to enter.

They are asking everyone to register early (by September 30) for the discount rate of $23. If you can not commit by September 30 just let me know and I will reserve your spot at that rate. Email me at info@extremehobbyzone.com and put Roar-N-Soar in subject field.

Prizes so far: JConcepts Gift Certificates, Racers Edge is providing various prizes, Traxxas will also provide prizes. Trophies for top 3 in each class courtesy of eXtreme Hobby Zone. Fantasy of Flight is also putting up some prizes that may include a Hot Air Balloon Ride, Bi-Plane Ride, Stearman Ride (subject to change and availability) More details on exact prizes/giveaways will be posted as things get closer.


This will be a fun event, more of a show for the public but some serious racing too.

Track will be similar to the track Traxxas built for their recent TORC RC race at Crandon. Track surface will be a nice top soil type surface, a little different but more realistic. The dirt packs well and the stock tires may prove to be a better tire.

The track will be available for practice on Friday November 6, 2009


Classes: SC-Spec, SC-Modified.

Rules will be very relaxed since this is the first time for this event and we hoping to attract a bigger field of racers. We will try to stick to the same rules we use at our track. More classes can be added if there is interest.

Traxxas will also be providing a Try-Me-Track where the public can try out a Slash on the track, help and support for this will hopefully bring more racers in and get all the local events bigger and better.

Hotel information coming soon, there is a local hotel that will have a great group rate for show participants.

The track will be built right up front, you won't miss it as you drive up.

There will be a drop off area at the track and free parking near by.

There will also be room for a few trailers by the track, you will have to un-hook. Trailer parking will be availble near by but at the track there will be limited space, first come basis.

Can you give more info on this event/
I would like to fly also. Is there extra fee for that or will entry for racing event cover it? I will have my son with me racing also. is it 2 entries or as advertised will he be considered the second person. Also the Fantasy flight shows slash and buggy. Are you racing buggies also. I am definitely coming but would like to get more info and need to know what to send in with the application.

I have some commitments but may be able to attend, what time is the racing/registration? I didn't see it on any of the links, although possibly I'm just missing it.
