Figured it would be a good time to start a thread in the Florida forum for the racers around the state that are running RCGT.
For those of you that are not Familiar with RCGT, what is it...
A class that runs Non-Race type bodies ( no Mazda 6 -R9 -LTC - Stratus ) and HPI X pattern tires on wheels with spokes ( No Dish ). It is a class that is trying bring back a little scale, and a lot of fun. Any 4wd Electric chassis with 17.5 or brushed 27t and Lipo packs...
The races are run a little bit longer.. and it is about having a good time...

We had a few at Adrenaline a few weeks ago but it bacame a bashing race like the old Vintage races, no one has race the class again. Shame the bodies look pretty cool.
RCGT has been a great class for us although we started it as an option to VTA usng the VTA motor/batt rules. As we progress we're planning on moving to true RCGT rules and create a RCGT Lites class which will use the VTA motor/batt rules so drivers can get the most experience with one chassis and not have to worry about different motor/battery combos.

We always ran VTA with 17.5/27t and 6 cell/lipo, so there are 1 or 2 cars in our field that are actually VTA cars. But the more the merrier so we let them run VTA in RCGT until they can pick up a new body and tires.

the 17.5 with Lipo is the way to go, F the 4 cell thing...... Where can you buy a 4 cell pack from a hobby store anyway. May be a 27t stock, that I can understand.
Cool I thought it was a 21.5 motor not a 17.5... that Ive got. I just didnt wanna buy a 21.5. The problem is the tires and the setup is really hard to find. It took me 3 months to figure out a good setup in VTA when it was a fad 2 years ago... then the class died & died hard...sad to see. I will be jumping on board real soon just as soon as I figure out a cool body to run. What are the tire rules again? Is it 24mm f & 26mm r rims like in VTA, I know they have to be spoked. Thanks
