Is anyone going to run Vintage/Trans Am? Only five entries at the first makes me wonder if its really worth the effort.

I'm in and my brother for Trans Am. But yes, we are still waiting for the 25 that voted in the new T/A rules.

About T/A: I've talked to a few people and basically what I'm hearing is that its not worth it for those who actually believed it was a competitive class, like 1/10 touring, etc, which then morphed into a mere basher class; there's no point in just running to bang around and t-bone other racers for the fun of it. What's the point of preparing your car, working on set up, etc, or even trying to race if you're just bashing around? How can there truly be a T/A 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, etc., if there's no racing, really? Maybe some are concerned about that and don't see the point of running T/A because of those issues? These are some of the issues that hold people back at our local track from even thinking about running T/A

I can assure you the five that raced the TA class at the Superior race were there to race. Now we only need about ten more with the same attitude to have a successful class.

I'm gonna add my thoughts. 25 people received ballots.....25 voted....in no way were these people obligated to run any class. It's the structure of the organization that allows participants to decide the outcome of the issues if they feel it is in the best interest of the club. I'd like to see ballot ideas seperated into two categories. Club related and class related. All would vote on club related matters, only people in the class with enough races to vote would decide the class issues. Essentially mod drivers would make decisions regarding mod.....vintage regarding vintage, etc. Club level decisions could then be made by club officials or a ballot. Maybe next year we could all vote on if we all vote or not.....wait, does that make sense?

I agree that not everyone should vote for rules for classes that do not apply to them, I probably could have stated when i sent out the vote link that not every question required an answer
Here is the link to the ballot
http://www.fseara.org/vote/survey.php?sid=62E176
the password was planet

as you can see, only some of the rules were required.

I agree w/ yyhamm above, trans am turned into demo derby at times, while it was fun to watch, I'm sure those who came to race would have been turned off.
Maybe we should have a demo derby class, last car standing wins!!!
