qualifying
How about heads up qualifying in all classes? We do that at Superior and it seems to work well.

I LIKE the IDEA of an extra qualifier.........but I'm not sure we can afford to get done any later on Sunday than we do. Maybe keep mod at 6 minutes and let stock classes go 8? It might be easier to add 2 minutes to each heat than another round. Can we look at the class schedule and running mod at the end of the program? Mod already runs six heats, having a heat before and after the break also stretches out the program, and sometimes at the expense of the other class' mains. Just a few thoughts for discussion. I like voting, but maybe only vote for decisions in the classes that you ran that year? I only ran Master's this year, so would only be able to make decisions regarding that class for the following year, and whatever general decisions for the series, not class specific.

I like the idea of heads up racing. Of course thats all I ran this season.

I also wouldn't want to finish any later on Sunday, but wouldn't object to an extra qualifier either. Race programs would have to be run a little tighter though.

Ok, just talked to Izzy. You have to run 4 out of the 6 races to vote on next years rule changes. (short season) (next year= full season 5 out of 7 ).
I think each person on this thread should list the TOP 2 rule changes they would like to see in place for next year. We will then make a ballot for these rule changes and vote at the Adrenalene Race. (there maybe more then 2 items up for voting as everyone does have different ideas on how the series should run.)
Mine are as follows
1) lower weight 50/51 oz.
2) allowing any ROAR legal motor to run in that class.
Thanks for the input here on this topic.

1) I think the points could be revised to a progressive spread between positions (1st 100, 2nd 96, 3rd 93, 4th 91, then 1 point after that). If you want to make it more important to show up for more races than the mandatory 5, we could try attendance bonus points (if you make 6 races 3 extra point if you make 7 an additional 2 for a total of 5 added to your total points after drops at the end of the year). 2) I also think we can do away with STOP AND GO penalties.

After reading everyones suggestions and ideas and doing some thinking about this I'll share my thoughts. Take it for what its worth.
1. Fewer classes for touring cars, stock and mod however we want to define
them.
2. Five rounds of racing for all classes, no qualifying, all heads up counting
three best runs. Scoring would be total laps and total time for the three
best runs. Most laps and lowest time wins.
3. Lower weight to 48 ounces just because thats what my car weighs.

Dave, sounds intriguing....but much like mod, how do you get an equitable distribution of racers, grids, etc., especially if we pare down classes. Would there be a resort at any time? and if so, would it then make it tougher to win? Could we rank racers by last seasons finishing order then group them accordingly? Just what iffing....
